Capcom to Pull the Plug on Rubbish Resident Evil Multiplayer Spin-Off

Despite numerous efforts from Capcom to establish a successful multiplayer version of Resident Evil, most attempts have fallen flat. Regrettably, Resident Evil Re:Verse follows the same pattern.

You might remember that the game came as a bonus when you bought Resident Evil Village. However, it experienced a significant delay, not being released until more than a year after the main single-player title it was initially intended to accompany.

Approximately two years since its debut, the game’s publisher has decided to discontinue it. By March 3rd, the game along with all its additional content will disappear from online stores. The game’s service will officially cease on June 29th, meaning you won’t be able to play it after this date, regardless of whether or not it’s still installed on your gaming console.

Resident Evil Re:Verse, launched to mark the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, has received an astonishing amount of love from players like you. Since its debut, your support has surpassed all our hopes for this game.

Given that Resident Evil Re:Verse has now reached a significant milestone in the series, we believe it’s fulfilled its initial, joyous mission very well. We genuinely appreciate your continued enthusiasm for Resident Evil Re:Verse, and we sincerely regret to inform you of some disappointing news.

Although we didn’t have a chance to evaluate Resident Evil Re:Verse immediately upon launch, we later gave it a go and encountered quite a few difficulties. Despite this, it received some extremely negative feedback from other sources, with its user rating dropping to a dismal 1.0 on Metacritic.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m hopeful that Capcom continues to explore competitive Resident Evil gameplay. Here’s to them coming up with something more enticing than Re:Verse in their future endeavors!
