Captain America 4: Harrison Ford Shares Why He Joined the MCU

As a long-time Marvel fan and admirer of Harrison Ford’s illustrious career, I can’t help but be thrilled about his latest venture into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with “Captain America: Brave New World.” His decision to join the franchise was not only inspired by watching other esteemed actors enjoy their time in this colossal universe, but also driven by a desire to have a good time himself.

In simpler terms,

Initially, I observed other talented actors enjoying themselves immensely, so I decided to give it a try and hopefully enjoy the process too. I may not be one of those brilliant actors, but I am thrilled with our work. I have high expectations for this movie; it’s going to be fantastic!

As a gamer, I’m stoked! Our potential Red Hulk isn’t the only big name joining the Captain America movie. Giancarlo Esposito will be playing Sidewinder too in Brave New World, and he can’t wait to get started! When asked why he joined the MCU, he said, “It’s about doing something fresh.” For him, it’s exciting to breathe life into a comic book character that’s already iconic and create something unique.

Ford Continues A Legendary Career

Over the past few weeks, Harrison Ford has been quite occupied, even though he’s known for his modesty. During the unveiling of “Captain America: Brave New World” at Disney’s D23 fan event, he was not only showcasing that film but also received a significant honor from the company. That weekend saw Harrison Ford being inducted into the Disney Legends class of 2024. In fact, his new colleague, Anthony Mackie, was the one who presented him in front of the bustling crowd on Sunday. The 82-year-old, who seems to have done it all, did appear a bit touched by all the affection.

In Mackie’s own words: “Dear Harrison Ford, our journey began when I joined you in a minor role for a massive film,” he shared with his fellow actor. “Now, I find myself working alongside you each day, not just as a colleague, but as your student. Let me express how profoundly meaningful it has been for me to learn from you every day. Your guidance has shown me the essence of being a leading man. Though my movie was the main focus, you taught me the importance of leading a crew, supporting a cast, and taking on the lead role. I am deeply grateful for that.”

“Bob Iger, Disney’s CEO, addressed the enthusiastic crowd, stating that the Disney Legends Award is our highest accolade. This award is given to honor talent, acknowledge achievements, and most importantly, to express our heartfelt gratitude. Those who receive this title hold a unique place in our history for their remarkable contributions towards entertaining and delighting fans worldwide.”
