As a longtime Marvel fan with decades of comic book history under my belt, I can confidently say that Captain America: Brave New World has all the makings of a classic. Tim Blake Nelson’s comments about it being reminiscent of one of Wolverine’s best movies have me intrigued. If they manage to capture even a fraction of the raw emotion and grittiness of James Mangold’s Logan, we’re in for a treat.
In a recent interview, Tim Blake Nelson, who stars as Samuel Sterns (also known as The Leader) in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Captain America: Brave New World,” hinted that the sequel could share similarities with one of Wolverine’s best movies, such as James Mangold’s Logan. With its grounded and realistic feel, Logan has been praised by moviegoers on social media, and Nelson suggests that “Captain America: Brave New World” might provide the MCU fans who have been yearning for this type of storytelling with something they’ve been missing for a while now. “Marvel is an unheard of phenomenon in the movie industry. Kevin Feige and his studio created dozens of connected movies that exist in one Cinematic Universe, to use their term. There’s no comparable achievement. So no – I don’t think it’s over,” Nelson argued. He would also go on to mention that Captain America’s trilogy of movies are among the “most grounded” of the MCU franchises. Then, the Samuel Sterns actor brought up Logan and it’s popular place as a comic book movie high-point. “This is going to be a wonderful movie,” he argued.
“I was incredibly saddened at the thought of not rejoining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As an actor, I yearned to discover what became of this character. After 18 years, I finally had the chance and it exceeded my expectations,” Nelson stated. “It was a tough assignment, but Julius Onah, an independent director, expertly led me through the process. These are genuine directors who value collaborating with actors and providing chances to portray extraordinary characters. Marvel embraces this approach.”
Some New Faces In Captain America: Brave New World
Many well-known actors have joined the cast of “Captain America: Brave New World”. Harrison Ford stands out as the most prominent among them. (Interestingly, it is suggested in some circles that the actor could transform into the Red Hulk for this role. During San Diego Comic Con, the actor portraying Thunderbolt Ross spoke with Variety about what it would take to embody the Red Hulk. As usual, Ford provided an amusing response that sent the internet buzzing. Sometimes, you just need to let your inner Hulk loose without any spectators around.)
Ford jokingly commented, “What was required? It needed disregard, it needed being foolish for money, which I’ve done before. I don’t intend to criticize it. I’m merely stating that sometimes you must engage in actions your mother or acting coach wouldn’t approve of – but it’s enjoyable, and I had a blast. I’m thrilled with the reaction we received from the trailer.”
