In simpler terms, the upcoming chapter of the Multiverse Saga may bring significant advancements since Captain America will headline a restructured team of superheroes. A recent sneak peek from production suggests a foreboding hint about what might transpire in the eagerly awaited sequel, potentially indicating challenges or difficulties for our hero.
On Instagram, Mackie posted an image of himself on a flight with the caption “Here we go!“, implying he was starting filming for the movie Doomsday, currently being produced in the U.K. Interestingly, he added a blood filter to his photo, potentially hinting at an intense battle ahead for Sam Wilson and the team against Robert Downey Jr’s latest villain, Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom, who could be quite violent.
The British productions for “Doomsday” and its follow-up, “Secret Wars,” are being filmed simultaneously. The Russo brothers, who directed “Infinity War” and “Endgame,” are in charge. Recently, Anthony Mackie hinted that “Doomsday” will share a similar mood with “Infinity War,” featuring an ending that leaves the fate of its characters hanging, suggesting a possible future for both the film and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moreover, Mackie expressed his belief that Captain America is the ideal hero to headline the Avengers team, as he aims to bring Marvel back to its roots after recurring complaints about superhero overload.
Mackie’s Sentinel of Liberty is among the confirmed characters for the upcoming film, “Doomsday”. This lineup includes the X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Wakandans, and the Thunderbolts. The movie is expected to include even more heroes, with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye anticipated appearances. For me, who’s been a fan of this group since I was young, it’s truly exciting!
In the movie adaptation of “Brave New World,” a spin-off from Disney+’s miniseries “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” Anthony Mackie debuted as Captain America for the first time on his own. The plot revolves around a conspiracy surrounding the assassination of U.S. President Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross, portrayed by Harrison Ford, and involves clashes with the Serpent Society. Despite positive feedback for Mackie’s initial cinematic outing as Captain America (48% on Rotten Tomatoes), and earning $414 million worldwide, it is said that the film had trouble recouping its $180 million budget.
