Captain America Star Chris Evans Comments on Steve Rogers' Marvel Return

As a huge Marvel fan and avid follower of Chris Evans’ career, I can’t help but be thrilled by the latest news about his secret cameo as Johnny Storm in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The anticipation is palpable among fans, and it seems that nothing is ever truly over in this expansive universe.

I, Chris Evans, am back as Captain America after playing Deadpool and Wolverine. Major spoiler alert for the sole Marvel movie of the year! But don’t be alarmed, I’ve swapped roles this time around, filming a clandestine cameo as Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four. Entertainment Weekly quizzed me about reprising my role as Cap and whether it crosses my mind. My response? “Not really, no.” Marvel fans can expect some significant comebacks soon. The frenzy surrounding Deadpool and Wolverine’s rowdy fanbase is a testament to the fact that nothing is permanently written off in this universe. (Feel free to interpret that as you see fit!)

Regarding “Captain America: Brave New World,” Evans shared that he stays in contact with Anthony Mackie and the rest of the crew. “I maintain connections with everyone,” the Captain America actor shared. “We message frequently. I’m excited to watch that film.” Evans has had an action-packed week already. He attended Kevin Feige’s Walk of Fame ceremony in Hollywood the day prior. Later, he surprised fans at Marvel’s Comic-Con panel for “Deadpool & Wolverine” in San Diego. Fingers crossed that he may have more appearances in store at this year’s comic convention.

Would Chris Evans Ever Come Back?

Captain America Star Chris Evans Comments on Steve Rogers' Marvel Return

As a longtime fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I’ve been following Chris Evans’ career with great interest since his debut as Captain America in 2011. And if you ask me, it’s no surprise that fans keep asking him about returning to the role, given the iconic status he’s achieved in the franchise.

“Although I’ve had an amazing experience, I’m not ruling out future possibilities. But I value and cherish this experience deeply. I still find myself in disbelief that it happened. I wouldn’t want to tarnish its memory with a hasty decision or an unsatisfying outcome. So, for now, I’ll hold off.”

The Captain America actor went on to express, “I truly wish to reduce acting in my life to some extent. I have numerous passions outside of this profession. Let me clarify, I haven’t reached the pinnacle of this industry with multiple Oscars. My name isn’t mentioned alongside the elite. However, I am content.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is in theaters now!
