Washington, D.C., should prepare to be blown away by Carrie Underwood‘s talents.
On January 20th, the artist famous for “Before He Cheats” is set to perform a powerful rendition at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration.
41-year-old Underwood is set to sing a version of “America the Beautiful”, joined by the Armed Forces Choir and the United States Naval Academy Choir, as reported by Axios.
I feel deeply attached to our nation, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to perform during the Inauguration, contributing to this significant occasion. I’m touched to have been selected for such an important moment, especially when we need to unite in harmony and look forward as a country,” Underwood expressed to TopMob News.
Previously featured on “American Idol,” Jackie Evancho, who came in second place on “America’s Got Talent,” sang the national anthem at Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration, making her a fresh presence for this event.
On January 19th, Underwood’s presentation is merely a segment of the president-elect’s momentous day, which commences with a festive event and fireworks spectacle at Trump National Sterling. Regarding inauguration day itself, the president-elect – who previously lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 Presidential Election but managed to outdo Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency in November – will participate in services at St. John’s Church, followed by a tea gathering at the White House before the formal swearing-in ceremony takes place.
The evening is planned to reach its peak with three debut balls, each including speeches from Trump: the Commander in Chief Ball, the Freedom Inaugural Ball, and the Starry Night Ball.
During the preparations for her inauguration performance, Underwood is also gearing up for her new job as a judge on American Idol. As the “Blown Away” singer shared, she’s still working on helping her and husband Mike Fisher’s children, Isaiah (9 years old) and Jacob (5 years old), fully grasp her new role.
