Catherine Zeta-Jones is feeling jazzy. 

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over Michael Douglas’ daughter, Carys Douglas, who just turned 22 and graduated from Brown University! And guess what? The legendary star of Chicago took to Instagram to celebrate this incredible achievement.

On the eve of graduation!!! This is what Catherine wrote in her May 26 post, featuring a heartwarming picture of her and Michael sharing a sweet moment with their daughter Carys, who is graduating. “We are both bursting with pride right now! The journey has only just started!!!

55-year-old Catherine, mother to Dylan Douglas (24 years old), along with Michael, shared glimpses of Dylan’s graduation day on her Instagram Stories. First, Catherine posted a picture of Carys, who had graduated in Film and International Relations, beaming in her black robe. After the ceremony, they embraced in a warm hug, and Carys appeared tearful as she leaned against her mom.

The festivities continued without a hitch, and on Wednesday, the spotlight wasn’t just on the event itself, but also on Carys’ circular graduation cake that was displayed. This cake had a subtle reference to the Rhode Island-based school’s mascot – Bruno the bear.

On multiple occasions, Catherine and Michael – parents to Cameron Douglas, aged 46, from their previous marriage with Diandra Luker – have publicly celebrated Carys’ academic achievements on social media. Interestingly, they were prominently present during her high school graduation in 2021, an event that included an awkward moment for the Basic Instinct actor involving some of the other parents at the ceremony.

During that time, when leaving the house and encountering other parents saying things like ‘Congratulations, you must be incredibly proud of your granddaughter’, Michael found it a bit awkward,” he shared on The Kelly Clarkson Show that year. “I responded with something like ‘Well, I suppose so… I guess I am,'” he added.

Still, Michael didn’t let the comment distract him from cheering on his daughter.

“I’m not gonna take it personal,” he continued. “I think they’re just trying to be nice.”
