Cassie Ventura is disclosing distressing accounts concerning the reported conduct of Sean “Diddy” Combs, as it pertains to one of her former partners.
The singer who is known for “Me & U” – having had an on-and-off relationship with Combs that lasted for ten years prior to their 2018 separation – recounted Kid Cudi’s (whose real name is Scott Mescudi) supposed response to her brief romance, which emerged following their musical collaborations.
In the federal sex trafficking trial of Combs in New York on May 14, Ventura (who didn’t reveal her relationship with Combs at that time) testified that she ended her relationship with Mescudi in 2011 due to allegations that “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper had threatened both of them. On the second day of her testimony, Cassie Ventura described in detail the hotel assault that transpired in 2016, which was subsequently captured on security cameras and broadcasted by CNN in May 2024.
She declared under oath that Sean “Diddy” Combs hurled a vase at her following his attempt to depart from the Intercontinental Hotel prematurely, prior to any physical altercation between them.

To mask a black eye and swollen lip, she had to put on heavy makeup, and she also mentioned that she adjusted her outfit due to multiple bruises on her legs.

My debut was approaching, and I didn’t want to jeopardize it.” Upon being shoved to the ground in the hallway, Ventura stated that she remained down because “I didn’t want him to cause any further harm than he had already inflicted.
Testified Ventura, she consumed alcohol and ecstasy during her initial sexual encounter with an escort in the presence of Combs. To endure “freak offs,” she added, she would often use marijuana, ketamine, mushrooms, or whichever drug was popular at the time.
“I couldn’t imagine myself doing any of that without having some sort of buffer,” she said.
At times, she would become so overwhelmed that she’d end up vomiting during heated arguments, Ventura stated, and Combs urged me to stand up and carry on with the dispute.
She expressed to Combs that the hurtful remarks, which she described as making her feel “awful” and “insignificant,” were a concern for her, but he appeared to disregard her feelings. This was stated by Ventura.
In a rather unexpected turn of events, I found myself in a situation where an accident occurred, leading to a generous spread of baby oil across the hotel room. If specific instructions had been given to soil the bedding, traces of urine might have also been discovered. To add to the mix, should I have been on my period during this incident, stains could potentially appear not only on the sheets but also on the surrounding furniture.
According to Ventura, the experience left her feeling “deeply embarrassed.” She expressed that it was “repulsive,” and she felt overwhelmed. She added that she struggled, wishing she wasn’t in such a situation, and found it hard to escape.
Ventura stated, “It was something that excited him, which led to the event occurring.” When Emily A. Johnson, the prosecutor, questioned her about not resisting Combs’ instructions in these instances, she explained, “I believed it was clear that I didn’t wish to comply.
On May 13, Ventura stated that Combs instructed her and the others involved in the “freak off” activity to apply baby oil onto their bodies.
In court, she stated that Sean desired the item both warm and shiny. To fulfill his request, we applied something to it every five minutes.
At the Montage Beverly Hills, during a strange incident, Ventura mentioned that Combs requested her to enter an inflatable pool filled with baby oil, while she was still dressed in her clothes.
She didn’t feel like it, but if it was something Combs really wanted to occur, then that’s exactly what would take place, she emphasized. “We went through ten full-size bottles of baby oil,” she added.
Ventura disclosed to prosecutors on May 13 that during the initial year of her ten-year romance with Combs, he suggested incorporating voyeurism into their intimate activities. This started when she arranged for an escort and set up the scenario so that she could perform in front of Combs, who would observe her with another person.
Over time, it turned out that organizing what Combs referred to as “freak offs”, sexual performances lasting between 36 hours and four days, became something she was employed to do.
She remembered, “At first, Sean arranged everything, including making the necessary arrangements in the hotel room and more. That’s what I did at the start.
Ventura said that her “stomach churned” when he first proposed the experience.
She admitted she didn’t initially understand what would excite him, but she took on the task. She felt perplexed, anxious, yet deeply loved him and wished to bring joy to him. It wasn’t something she eagerly embraced, particularly not as frequently as it evolved, but again, her love for him prevailed.
She admitted, “At some point, I felt I didn’t have much of a choice.”
In a statement made by Ventura, she revealed that during their relationship spanning from 2007 to 2018 with Combs, he often exhibited violent behavior towards her.
Indeed, the disputes we had were intense and often escalated into acts of violence. He would forcefully strike my head, push me down, drag me across the floor, and even resort to kicking me. This is the truth I shared with the jury.
She mentioned that her injuries were frequently noticeable, stating, “I’d develop lumps on my forehead, have black and red eyes, and sport bruises covering my entire body.
On May 13th, Ventura was prepared to testify following Daniel Philip, and Combs’ legal team requested that she be positioned in the witness stand prior to the jury’s entrance, as she is currently eight months pregnant.

He additionally confirmed that he caught phrases suggesting that Combs was physically attacking Ventura in another instance, at the Essex House hotel in New York. “I heard her apologizing repeatedly, someone was being hit and thrown around the room,” Philip stated. “Looking around the corner, I saw Mr. Combs leave the hotel completely, possibly wearing only a towel.
Ventura exited the room and landed on Philip’s lap, as he stated. “She seemed determined to assure me that ‘everything will be alright’ and ‘I’ll manage,'” Philip explained further. “But I responded by saying, ‘Things are not fine and you should seek help.’
“I tried to explain to her that she was in real danger if she stayed with him,” Phillip said.
In response to Maureen Comey’s inquiry about why I didn’t contact the authorities, I testified that Combs seemed like an individual wielding immense influence. My concern was that, despite reaching out to the police, there was a high probability that I might still face dire consequences.
Daniel Philip, who claimed to be managing a male entertainment show during the relevant period, declared under oath that he was paid a substantial amount, approximately “a few thousand dollars”, for engaging in intimate activities with Ventura while Diddy (Combs) observed at the Gramercy Hotel in New York City in 2012. Philip stated that Combs was dressed in a robe, a baseball cap, and a face covering bandanna, but he identified him by his distinctive voice.
Ventura compensated him and mentioned she’d give him a tip upon departure, which Philip recounted to the court. Later, they engaged in sexual activity. They massaged baby oil onto each other for a few moments. Combs was found in a corner, engaging in self-stimulation.
Afterward, the witness continued, Ventura gave him “a couple of thousand more.”
Over the following year, Philip claimed he was reached out to on several occasions for similar events with both Ventura and Combs, taking place at various hotels as well as their homes in New York City. He asserted that Combs filmed him and Ventura during one or two intimate instances, and occasionally, Combs would insert himself into the situation, having sex with Ventura while Philip was present.
In her 2023 legal action claiming sexual assault and physical violence by her former partner, Ventura asserted that Combs compelled her into engaging in sexual acts with male escorts.
According to Florez’s testimony, Ventura appeared frightened. She huddled in a corner with her hood up, hiding her face. The floor nearby held the shattered remnants of a vase that had been smashed.
After Ventura departed from the hotel, Florez stated that she had a noticeable purple eye. Following her exit, Florez mentioned that he and the desk manager went up to the room where Combs was staying to discuss the “hotel regulations.” According to Florez, Combs suspected the manager of recording him with his phone and attempted to seize it. When Combs tried to take Florez’s phone, Florez stated that he restrained Combs against a wall. “We assured him we were not recording him,” Florez testified in court, “and diffused the situation.
In court, the prosecution played back the slowed-down version of the footage showing the attack on Ventura, where it appears Combs is striking, kicking, and pulling Ventura—this was the same video that CNN published in May 2024, but which the defense had claimed was sped up to exaggerate the violence. Additionally, the jury watched a video taken by Florez on his cell phone, responding to a distress call from a woman on the sixth floor.
According to Florez, he chose not to contact the police immediately as Ventura refused to discuss the incident and simply preferred to depart.
Back in 2016, Israel Florez, a police officer from Los Angeles, served as a security guard at the InterContinental Hotel. It was during this time that Combs allegedly assaulted Ventura on March 5th. In her opening statement, Geragos referred to the surveillance footage of the attack (initially released by CNN in May 2024) as strong evidence of domestic violence, yet clarified that it wasn’t related to sex trafficking, but rather infidelity uncovered on a cell phone.
On May 12th, Florez stated under oath that he witnessed signs of a dispute on the day in question, to which Combs later handed him a pile of cash as an incentive for him not to intervene.
During questioning, Florez stated that he was completely convinced the gesture was an attempt by Combs to bribe him.
In my opening remarks, I, Teny Geragos, asserted that the prosecution is attempting to transform consensual sexual encounters into instances of sex trafficking. However, I firmly believe that their efforts will prove unsuccessful.
“Sean Combs is a complicated man,” she said, “but this is not a complicated case.”
Geragos went on to say that the matter at hand pertains to Sean Combs’ private, intimate sexual activities. However, these are unrelated to his legitimate business dealings.”

During the trial, she informed the court that her client exhibited aggressive behavior, used illegal substances, and had anger management problems. However, it’s important to remember that he isn’t on trial for being rude or unpleasant; he is being tried for other charges.
Geragos stated, “The evidence will reveal an imperfect person, yet it won’t depict them as a racketeer, a sex trafficker, or someone involved in transporting for prostitution.
Courtroom reporter from NBC News stated that prosecutor Emily Johnson alleged that Combs employed a vast system of workers to execute unlawful activities, including prolonged “freak offs.” These incidents were described in the federal indictment.
She informed the court that he occasionally referred to himself as a king, demanding special treatment to fulfill his every whim. It was also revealed that he exploited his businesses to coerce women into sexual acts in the presence of male escorts. He and his close associates ensured that he always received everything they believed he desired.
Johnson commenced her presentation to the jury by portraying Combs as an extraordinarily influential individual who oversaw a criminal organization.
Johnson emphasized to the jury an instance suggesting Combs’ alleged criminality by stating that the founder of Bad Boys Record was “pursuing” Ventura one evening following news of her romantic involvement with someone else. Johnson claimed that Combs viciously assaulted her, kicking her in the back and tossing her around carelessly after discovering her.
He warned her, stating that if she disobeys him once more, he would expose videos of her engaging in intimate acts with male escorts, essentially reliving her most embarrassing moments through souvenirs,” she explained further.
The prosecutor alleged that Combs’ inner circle covered up “crime after crime.”
Judge Arun Subramanian expressed his expectation that the trial might wrap up by the 4th of July. He expressed hope that it would indeed end by then, though he cautioned that it could extend beyond that date, but he does not anticipate this happening.
On the opening day of his sex trafficking trial on May 12th, his mother, Janice Combs, and six of his oldest children were by his side.
The children of his late partner Kim Porter – Quincy Brown, Christian “King” Combs, Jessie Combs, and D’Lila Combs; his child with Misa Hylton, Justin Combs; and his daughter with Sarah Chapman, Chance Combs – all had the opportunity to give their father a warm embrace before he met with his lawyers.
In the trial, both the prosecution and Chris Combs’ legal team consented to having eight male and four female jurors, along with four male and two female alternates.
Marc Agnifilo, legal representative of Combs, contended that the prosecution seemed to be deliberately excluding prospective Black jurors. He asserted this trend to the judge, suggesting that rationales for these dismissals should be provided.
However, in response to the allegations, Prosecutor Maurene Ryan Comey stated, “We’ve acted impartially throughout, and our jury is multiracial, including several non-white members.
