Cassie Ventura’s mother is speaking out.
Following the court appearance of her pregnant daughter, Regina Ventura testified on May 20th, recounting memories from a ten-year period during which Cassie had an intermittent relationship with music tycoon Sean “Diddy”. In her accusations against Diddy, she claims he threatened to disclose intimate videos of the “Me & U” singer after she began dating rapper Kid Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi).
According to NBC News, during her testimony, Regina claimed that in December 2011, Diddy sent an email to Cassie threatening her after discovering she was dating Cudi. The email, shown in court, contained threats from Diddy about releasing two sex tapes of Cassie, one on Christmas Day, and hinted at potential harm for both Cassie and Cudi, although he did not intend to cause the harm himself.
Regina explained to the court via email from Combs that she became ill, both physically and emotionally. The sex tape took her by surprise, causing distress. She believed Combs intended to harm her daughter. He was demanding $20,000 because her daughter was involved with Scott Mescudi.
She mentioned that Diddy expressed his frustration about having spent money on Cassie, only for her to be dating someone else now.
“We took a home equity loan,” Regina explained. “That was the only way we could get the money.”
According to NBC News, Cassie’s mother additionally testified that she captured photos of Cassie’s wounds in the same month, claiming these injuries were inflicted by Combs.
As she explained, “She was bruised and I wanted to make sure we memorialize it.”
After hearing Regina’s testimony, the defense lawyers chose not to question her further. Attorney Marc Agnifilo informed the court, “I have no queries at this time.
During her testimony, Cassie clarified the serious threats she claimed Sean had made towards her and Cudi. She testified on May 14th that these threats ultimately resulted in her ending their relationship.
During her testimony, Cassie expressed that there was an excessive amount of doubt about continuing our interactions, and she mentioned that Sean threatened both of us with harm.
Regina serves as yet another individual who has given testimony regarding the accusations of physical abuse by Diddy towards Cassie, joining a growing number of such witnesses.
On May 16th, Dawn Richard, a former Danity Kane member, testified that she observed Diddy (who has pleaded not guilty to allegations including racketeering, prostitution, and sex trafficking) physically assault Cassie using an egg skillet back in the year 2009.
According to NBC News, Dawn stated that he descended the stairs, inquiring about his phone and then forcefully pushed her to the floor. She further explained that he tried to kick her, causing her to fall and take a defensive position by curling up into a ball and shielding her head.
She continued, “I was scared for her, I was scared to do anything.”

As a lifestyle consultant, I’d share that during my tenure assisting Sean “Diddy” Combs, I noticed he would always ensure his overnight bag contained a significant sum of cash, typically around $10,000. Additionally, it was common for him to pack over-the-counter medications such as Advil and Tylenol, as well as prescription drugs like Viagra and supplements to boost sperm count.
James additionally claimed that Combs was found with “Percodan and MDMA” in his possession, an assertion backed by his former assistant who reportedly observed Combs consuming them.
The prosecution provided a peek into the rapper’s room at New York’s Park Hyatt hotel, during the time of his apprehension on September 16th.
As a diligent observer, I’d like to share what was presented during the testimony – images captured by Special Agent Yasin Binda from Homeland Security. These photos contained several items:
1. Ziploc bags holding baby oil and Astroglide lubricant.
2. Five bottles of baby oil in the bathtub.
3. Two more bottles of lubricant stored in a drawer.
4. Two bags containing a powdery substance.
5. A substantial amount of $9,000 in cash.
Each piece of evidence was carefully documented and presented as part of the investigation.
As per Binda’s report, substances identified as both ketamine and a combination of ketamine and MDMA were confirmed in the two hidden bags discovered within a prescription container.
Cassie Ventura’s ex-friend declared on May 19th that they had directly observed Sean Combs (Puff Daddy/Diddy) physically harming Ventura during their trip to Jamaica, as well as at a residence he leased in the Hollywood Hills.
Kerry Morgan stated that her 17-year friendship with Ventura ended following an assault by Combs at his apartment in 2018. According to NBC News, the incident occurred while they were listening to music together. Morgan claimed that Combs suddenly approached her from behind, choked her, leaving marks on her neck, and struck her on the head with a wooden hanger. At the time, Cassie was in the bathroom. The blow landed behind Morgan’s right ear.
As an over-the-moon fan, I took the plunge and recruited a legal eagle, Morgan, to help me out. But here’s the twist: Instead of taking things to court, I opted for a more discreet approach. In return for a cool $30,000, I agreed to put my signature on a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), keeping the details under wraps forevermore.
Morgan declared, “It’s been silent between us since, as my last conversation with Sean was during the incident and the last time I encountered Cassie was when I agreed to the Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Additionally, during the court proceedings, Morgan indicated that she had since moved forward with her life but agreed to testify due to a government-issued subpoena.
She stated that she recommended Ventura to part ways with Combs, but she clarified that due to her employment, vehicle, and living arrangements, she couldn’t do so.
During questioning by lawyer Marc Agnifilo, Morgan stated that she ceased communicating with Ventura as the musician was unsupportive following the 2018 event. She further clarified, “I have a limit when it comes to physical abuse.
Dawn Richard, formerly of Danity Kane, declared on May 16th that she observed Richard Woolfolk chasing his girlfriend Ventura with a skillet filled with eggs back in 2009.
He stormed downstairs angrily and was shouting questions about his missing eggs and accusing Cassie of always getting things wrong. He then approached a skillet containing his eggs and attempted to hit her on the head. This caused her to fall to the ground.” (Richard testified, based on the court transcript obtained by NBC News.)
Ventura “went into the fetal position,” Richard continued, “literally trying to hide her head.”
During the testimony on May 15, Ventura stated that there were no illicit substances blended into the baby oil Combs preferred for his “freak offs.
2024 saw a lawsuit accusing Combs of adding GHB, also known colloquially as the “date rape drug,” into the oil.
During the questioning under defense, Ventura declared on May 15th that Combs often became envious and responded in a volatile manner when she consumed drugs with others instead of himself.
She mentioned that Combs had experienced an overdose from painkillers at one point. When defense attorney Anna Estevao inquired whether her former partner’s mood changes could be linked to medication, Ventura responded affirmatively, stating that “the pills played a role” or “the pills were involved.
Previously today, I asked her opinion about whether Combs struggled with substance abuse. She responded by saying, “In my view, he was battling addiction.
Her response affirmed that Combs did exhibit anger or volatility during his withdrawal period.
“I’m not a doctor,” Ventura said, but “coming off of certain pills he would be pretty irritated.”
On May 15, when Ventura was on the witness stand, Judge Arun Subramanian temporarily adjourned court proceedings as Combs’ defense presented graphic emails and texts during their cross-examination.
In response to defense attorney Estevao showing sexually suggestive messages exchanged by the ex-couple dating back to 2009 as evidence of a consensual relationship, the prosecution objected, and the judge agreed with their objection.
After hearing the objection, Ventura was spotted conversing quietly with the judge. The judge then unexpectedly announced a 10-minute recess.
A vigorous disagreement arose between the prosecution and defense, prior to the arrival of the jury in the courtroom, as the lead defense attorney, Marc Agniflio, asserted that additional texts should be presented in court. However, the judge stated that certain messages breached federal evidence regulations.
Nonetheless, several pieces of evidence included their conversations, where Combs and Ventura openly discussed their intimate sexual experiences.
On May 15th, Ventura admitted that she couldn’t precisely determine the number of instances where she was involved with Combs, but she estimated it to be around hundreds.
She claimed that her former partner secretly recorded their intimate acts with the intention of threatening or manipulating her using those recordings. She stated that he warned her he would disseminate them, potentially harming her professional reputation.
Ventura stated, “He often brought up those issues when he was angry about something. It happened quite frequently,” Ventura explained. “I was terrified for my job, for my family. It was all incredibly humiliating. It’s vile and repugnant. No one deserves to be treated that way.
On May 14, it was stated that Ventura received a $20 million settlement from her former boyfriend Combs, following a lawsuit she filed against him in November 2023. The lawsuit accused him of sexual assault and physical abuse throughout their relationship.
As a loyal follower, I’d like to share an account from Ventura. In 2018, we had a dinner outing at a Malibu restaurant with Combs. He was genuinely pleasant throughout our conversation. Later that night, he escorted me back to my apartment, where unfortunately, I experienced sexual assault. It’s important to note that at the time, I was in a relationship with Alex Fine, whom I later married in 2019.
She testified that I entered, then assaulted her brutally on our living room floor. All I can recall is weeping, pleading ‘no’, but it happened so swiftly. His eyes appeared dark, he seemed altered, as though a part of him had been stolen.
Combs’ legal team has consistently argued that he was not involved in any instances of non-consensual sexual acts, and that the individuals accusing him of sexual misconduct had given their consent for any sexual activities they were part of.
Ventura stated that she engaged in consensual sexual activity with Combs on another instance following the alleged assault. When questioned about her decision to have sex with Combs again, she explained, “You can’t simply switch off feelings like that. I still held a positive view of who he was as an individual.
In late 2011, Ventura ended her relationship with Scott Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi, due to a threat made by Diddy that his car would be destroyed. This was her testimony.
Ventura stated to the court that there was excessive risk and ambiguity regarding potential outcomes if they continued their meetings. He mentioned that Sean had threatened them with harm.
On May 14, it was testified that the “Freak offs” caused Ventura to have urinary tract infections, mouth ulcers, and digestive problems.
During her testimony, Ventura stated that there were multiple instances when we had confrontations, which often followed each other closely and sometimes, these confrontations happened while I was dealing with an infection. I attempted to wash it away with water. Eventually, the antibiotic CIPRO became ineffective. The situation became chaotic.
She continued, “It was really painful for a long time. I can’t believe I actually dealt with that.”
Among the text messages between Ventura and Combs shown in court, she relayed in one that she had sores on her tongue. He wrote, “I’m sorry.”
As I step up to share my testimony once more, I find myself transported back to the fateful year of 2016, when an unsettling event unfolded at a local hotel. This incident was later captured on surveillance footage and brought to light by CNN in May 2024. As a lifestyle expert, it’s my responsibility to promote wellness, safety, and harmony, which is why I feel compelled to speak out about this experience.
I can’t help but share this: In an account of events, I, as a devoted admirer, stated that Diddy (Combs), in a moment of frustration, hurled a vase at me when I tried to exit the Intercontinental Hotel prematurely. What followed was a physical altercation, leaving me shaken and disheartened.
On the stand on May 14, Ventura stated, “It seemed to be moving towards me when I recall. It struck the wall, not me. He was shouting at me; I believe he hurled it in my direction, but I can’t recollect his exact words. I’m confident he wasn’t just using my name.
However, she said that Combs told her “that I wasn’t going to leave him, that I couldn’t.”
Right after the hotel incident, Ventura mentioned that she still needed to attend the red carpet event for her movie “The Perfect Match”, sporting bruises on her face and body with Combs. To mask her black eye and swollen lip, she had to apply thick makeup. Furthermore, she stated that she also had several bruises on her legs, so she adjusted her outfit accordingly.
On May 13, the singer declared under oath that Combs assaulted her in the corridor of a Los Angeles hotel back in March 2016, as he was enraged by her departure from what she referred to as a “freak off” incident. (Footage from the hotel’s security cameras showing the event was made public by CNN in 2024, but the defense failed to get this footage excluded as evidence.)
In response to the court’s inquiry, Ventura explained that he decided to depart. Subsequently, Sean trailed behind me into the corridor, seized me, pushed me down, kicked me, and dragged me back to the room before gathering my belongings.
She initially didn’t wish to join, but she had a film premiere scheduled in a few days, and she wanted to keep Combs content. In her words, “If I could appease him by going along with his request,” Ventura said, “then my event would proceed without any glitches.
In response, she mentioned, “At that moment, all I could focus on was escaping safely. My debut was approaching, and I didn’t wish to compromise it.” After being shoved to the floor in the corridor, Ventura stated, she remained there because “I didn’t want him to inflict any more harm than he had already caused.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d candidly confess that during my initial intimate encounter with an escort, in the presence of Combs, I indulged in alcohol and ecstasy. To navigate through those exhilarating moments, I would often resort to various substances such as marijuana, ketamine, mushrooms – whichever drug was trending at that juncture.
“I couldn’t imagine myself doing any of that without having some sort of buffer,” she said.
Occasionally, I’d find myself physically retching during heated exchanges, Ventura explained. Yet, Combs would urge me to gather my composure and press forward amidst the chaos.
During tough times, I’d almost throw up, but Combs would motivate me to keep going.
She expressed to Combs that the “pranks” left her feeling “awful” and “insignificant,” as Ventura put it, but he seemed rather unconcerned about her issues.
Following an unexpected incident, the hotel room was found to be covered in baby oil, as Ventura testified. If Combs had ordered someone to urinate on her, it’s possible that there would be traces of urine on the bedsheets. Furthermore, if she happened to be menstruating at the time, there could potentially be blood stains not only on the sheets but also on the furniture.
According to Ventura, the experience left her feeling deeply embarrassed. She described it as revolting and overwhelming. She struggled, wishing she wasn’t in such a situation, but found herself trapped without an easy escape.
According to Ventura, he found it appealing, which is why the event transpired. When Emily A. Johnson, the prosecutor, asked her why she didn’t resist Combs’ instructions in these instances, she responded by saying, “I believed it was clear that I didn’t want to participate.
Testifying on the 13th of May, Ventura stated that Combs instructed her and others involved in the “freak off” activity to apply baby oil all over their bodies.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that statement like this: “I made sure to keep it warm and shiny, so I applied the treatment every five minutes, as per his request.
In a surprising turn of events at the Montage Beverly Hills, Ventura recounted that Combs invited her to enter an inflatable pool brimming with baby oil, all while she was dressed in clothing.
She wasn’t keen on it, but as Sean John Combs (Puff Daddy, Diddy) desired it, that was what would transpire, she went on to explain. “We employed no less than ten standard-sized bottles of baby oil,” she added.
On May 13, Ventura disclosed to prosecutors that during the initial phase of her ten-year relationship with Combs, he suggested incorporating voyeurism into their intimate activities. This started when she arranged for an escort and prepared a setup, allowing her to “perform” for Combs while another person was present, who then watched.
In time, it turned into a regular occupation for her as she arranged and participated in extended sexual performances that Combs referred to as “freak offs,” which would often continue for periods ranging from 36 hours up to four days.
She remembered, “At first, Sean arranged everything, including making the necessary arrangements in the hotel room and so on. Later, I took care of it.
Ventura said that her “stomach churned” when he first proposed the experience.
She admitted she didn’t initially understand why it would be appealing, but she took on the task. To be honest, she was puzzled, anxious, yet deeply loved him and desired his happiness. It wasn’t something she enthusiastically sought out, especially considering how frequently it happened, but her love for him overruled these feelings.
She admitted, “At some point, I felt I didn’t have much of a choice.”
Ventura stated that during their on-again, off-again relationship from 2007 to 2018, Combs often displayed violent behavior towards her.
Indeed, those disagreements often escalated into brutal confrontations, leading to both verbal and physical assaults. He would forcefully shove my head, send me tumbling to the ground, roughly pull me, and even resort to kicking me. This is what I have borne witness to in court.
She mentioned that her injuries were frequently noticeable, explaining, “I’d develop lumps on my forehead, have black and red eyes, and sport bruises covering my entire body.
On May 13, it was planned for Ventura to testify following Daniel Philip, and Combs’ defense asked that she be positioned in the witness stand prior to the jury’s entrance, as she is eight months pregnant.
Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo expressed to the judge that he perceived a bias, saying, “I believe there’s an element of empathy involved,” emphasizing that pregnancy is both captivating and inspiring.
Ventura joined the case later on, which implied that his legal team’s motion had been denied earlier.
On one particular instance when Ventura didn’t immediately respond to Combs’ call, Philip testified on May 12th that Combs allegedly hurled a bottle of liquor in Ventura’s vicinity, then forcefully grabbed her by the hair and dragged her into the bedroom. According to Philip, Ventura was screaming at the time, and from his location in another room, it sounded like Combs was hitting her. Philip also recalled hearing Combs say, “I told you to come here, you come here now, not later.
Phillip said he was “terrified” and did not intervene.
He also stated that on another instance, it appeared to him that Combs was physically harming Ventura at the Essex House hotel in New York. “I heard her crying, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry,’ and there were sounds of someone being struck and thrown around the room,” Philip recounted. “Peeking around the corner, I saw Mr. Combs exit the hotel altogether, possibly with only a towel covering him.
Ventura exited the room and hopped onto Philip’s lap, as Philip recounted. “She was trying to reassure me that ‘everything will be fine’ and ‘I’ll manage,'” Philip added. To which he responded, “That’s not acceptable and you require assistance.
“I tried to explain to her that she was in real danger if she stayed with him,” Phillip said.
During the court proceedings, Maureen Comey inquired about why he hadn’t contacted the police, and Philip responded that he viewed Combs as a person with immense authority. He explained that even if he had reported the incident to the police, there was a possibility that his life could still be at risk.
Daniel Philip, who claimed he was operating a male strip show during the specified period, declared that he received “a couple of thousand dollars” for engaging in sexual activities with Ventura, while Combs observed at Manhattan’s Gramercy Hotel in 2012. Philip stated that Combs was dressed in a robe, a baseball cap, and a head covering, but he identified him by his voice.
Ventura compensated him, mentioning that she’d give him a tip upon leaving, which Philip later shared with the court. Subsequently, they engaged in sexual activity. They massaged each other with baby oil for a short while. Combs was found seated in a corner, engaging in self-stimulation.
Afterward, the witness continued, Ventura gave him “a couple of thousand more.”
Over the course of the following year, Philip claimed he received numerous messages inviting him for similar experiences with both Ventura and Combs at different hotels and their residences in New York. He alleged that Combs videotaped him and Ventura during one or two intimate occasions, and on certain instances, Combs would insert himself into the situation and have sex with Ventura while Philip was present.
In a 2023 legal claim against her former partner for charges of sexual assault and domestic violence, Ventura stated that Combs compelled her into engaging in sexual activities with hired men.
According to Florez’s testimony, Ventura appeared frightened. She was huddled in the corner, her hood pulled over, and her body was mostly concealed. A shattered flower vase lay on the floor nearby.
When Ventura departed from the hotel, Florez stated that she had a noticeable purple eye. After her exit, Florez mentioned that he and the hotel manager went upstairs to discuss the hotel regulations with Combs. According to Florez, Combs assumed the manager was recording him on his phone and tried to take it. He also indicated that when Combs attempted to seize his own phone, Florez held Combs up against a wall. Florez testified in court that they clarified they weren’t recording him, attempting to de-escalate the situation.
In court proceedings during May 2024, prosecutors displayed a slowed-down version of the security footage showing the attack, where it appears Combs is striking, kicking, and dragging Ventura – footage initially published by CNN. This was done to counter the defense’s previous claim that the original clip had been sped up, making the altercation appear more violent than it actually was. Additionally, the jury watched a video recorded by Florez on his phone, which he captured when responding to a call for assistance from a distressed woman on the sixth floor.
Florez stated that he chose not to contact the police right away since Ventura refused to discuss what had transpired and only expressed a desire to depart.
Police Officer Israel Florez, based in Los Angeles, had been employed as a security guard at the InterContinental Hotel. It was during this time that Combs allegedly assaulted Ventura on March 5, 2016. During her opening statement, Geragos referred to the surveillance footage of the attack (originally released by CNN in May 2024) as “compelling evidence of domestic violence,” emphasizing it was more about infidelity found on a cellphone rather than sex trafficking.
On May 12th, Florez stated under oath that he witnessed a scuffle on the day in question, and subsequently, Combs allegedly presented him with a wad of cash as an attempt to ignore this incident.
During questioning, Florez stated that he was completely convinced the gesture was intended by Combs as an attempt to bribe him.
In her initial remarks, the defense lawyer, Teny Geragos, argued that the prosecution was attempting to portray consensual sexual acts as instances of sex trafficking, however, he expressed his belief that this strategy would ultimately fail.
“Sean Combs is a complicated man,” she said, “but this is not a complicated case.”
Geragos emphasized that this matter revolves around Sean Combs’ private, intimate sexual matters. These are unrelated to any of his legitimate business dealings.
As a lifestyle expert, I want to clarify that while my client may have displayed behavior some might deem unpleasant or unkind, it’s important to remember that he stands accused of specific charges, not for his general demeanor. During this trial, you may find yourself thinking he comes across as rude or aggressive, but please keep in mind that these traits are not the focus of the court proceedings. He is being tried for the alleged offenses, not for his personality or personal conduct.
Geragos stated, “The proof presented will reveal an imperfect person, yet it won’t demonstrate a racketeer, a human trafficker, or someone involved in transporting for prostitution.
Assistant District Attorney Emily Johnson alleged that Defendant Combs utilized an extensive team of workers to perform unlawful activities, including extended “freak offs,” as reported by NBC News correspondents present in the courtroom, who were privy to these details from the federal indictment.
She informed the jury that he occasionally referred to himself as a king, demanding to be treated accordingly, fulfilling all of his whims. It was also revealed that he exploited his businesses to exert control over women, compelling them, in the company of male escorts, to engage in sexual acts while he observed. He and his close associates ensured that he always received everything he desired.
Johnson initiated her case presentation to the jury by characterizing Combs as an extraordinarily imposing figure, who presided over a criminal organization.
Johnson brought attention to an instance supposedly showing Combs’ criminal behavior by telling the jury that the founder of Bad Boys Record was “pursuing” Ventura one night following news of her new romantic involvement with someone else. According to Johnson, Combs allegedly assaulted Ventura severely, kicking her in the back and tossing her around violently, much like a doll made of rags, upon discovering her.
She went on to say that he had threatened her, warning her that if she disobeyed him again, he would expose videos of her involving in intimate acts with male escorts – memories of the most shameful nights of her existence.
The prosecutor alleged that Combs’ inner circle covered up “crime after crime.”
The lead judge, Arun Subramanian, expressed his belief to the jury that the trial may come to an end by the 4th of July. He expressed his hope that the trial would be over by then, although he cautioned that it might take longer, but he doesn’t foresee it extending beyond that point.
On the opening day of his sex trafficking trial on May 12, Janice Combs, the rap mogul’s mother, was in attendance, accompanied by six of his oldest children.
Quincy Brown, Christian “King” Combs, Jessie Combs, D’Lila Combs (Kim Porter’s kids), Justin Combs (son of Misa Hylton), and Chance Combs (daughter of Sarah Chapman) had the opportunity to embrace their father before he met with his lawyers.
In the trial, both the prosecution and Chris Combs’ legal team reached an agreement on having eight male and four female jurors, along with four male and two female alternates.
Marc Agnifilo, representing Combs, contended that the prosecution seemed to be deliberately excluding prospective Black jurors. He pointed out this trend to the judge, stating that an explanation for these dismissals was necessary to avoid suggesting a pattern.
In my commitment to upholding integrity, I stand by the assertion that our actions have been unbiased throughout this process. Our jury, a testament to diversity, boasts several members who identify as nonwhite.
Among the twelve jurors, there is a 69-year-old male actor and massage therapist from New York City or Westchester, as well as a 31-year-old male investment analyst. Also on the jury are a 51-year-old male scientist, a 30-year-old female deli clerk, a 42-year-old female nursing home aide, and a 41-year-old male communications clerk at a correctional facility. Additionally, you’ll find a 68-year-old retired banker, another retired person from the telecommunications industry, a 43-year-old female physician assistant, a 39-year-old male social worker, a 67-year-old male logistics analyst, and a 74-year-old female treatment coordinator.
