Castlevania: Nocturne Director Gives Update on Season 2 Status

As a seasoned gamer with decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the news of Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 is like manna from heaven. Having grown up with the original games and even dabbling in the animated series by Adi Shankar, I’m thrilled to see this franchise continue to thrive.

Development for season 2 of the animated Castlevania series on Netflix is underway, and one of the directors involved has given fans an update as they approach the final stages. Previously known as Castlevania: Nocturne, this title made its appearance last year to continue the animated universe that Adi Shankar and Netflix initially created. The original series, consisting of four seasons, concluded its narrative, and now, this subsequent significant entry shifts the franchise to a new era by focusing on a fresh generation of Belmont characters battling their own demonic adversary. Its success led promptly to the confirmation of season 2’s production.

As a devoted admirer of “Castlevania: Nocturne,” I’ve been eagerly waiting for news on Season 2, and recently, director Samuel Deats has stepped up to share some encouraging words with us fans. He’s asking for our support as they’re in the final stages of animation for “Castlevania Nocturne” season 2. With the finish line in sight, it seems like we won’t have to wait much longer before we can finally dive into the new episodes, hopefully with a release window or date announced soon!

We’re nearing the final stages of animating Castlevania Nocturne season 2, and the team could benefit from some additional support. Could you share some memorable animation sequences or visually striking elements that caught your eye throughout the entire series (original or Nocturne)?

What Is Castlevania: Nocturne?

Work on “Castlevania: Nocturne” Season 2 is underway, however, specific release dates remain undisclosed at this point. The production team and actors from the previous season will be reprising their roles, so fans can get up to speed by streaming the initial eight-episode season available on Netflix now. In the interim, you can also watch the original “Castlevania” series on Netflix to keep yourself entertained until new episodes arrive.

Kevin Kolde and Clive Bradley took on the role of executive producers (with Bradley additionally serving as creator-writer), while Sam and Adam Deats handled directing duties, and Project 51 Productions and Powerhouse Animation were responsible for producing the show. This team unveiled the first season of Castlevania: Nocturne in this manner:

“Year 1792, amidst the peak of the French Revolution in France: In a secluded region of western France, the aristocracy opposed to the revolution has formed an alliance with a chilling Vampire Messiah. This enigmatic figure claims he can ‘consume the sun’ and summon an army of vampires and night creatures to overpower the revolution and enslave mankind. Annette, a sorceress hailing from the Caribbean, embarks on a quest to find Richter Belmont, the last living descendant of the legendary lineage of vampire hunters, to rally the resistance.”
