In my opinion, at one time, director Robert Zemeckis was undeniably successful with an impressive series of hits such as Romancing the Stone, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Death Becomes Her, Forrest Gump, Castaway, What Lies Beneath, and of course, the Back to the Future trilogy. However, since 2015, he seems to have faced a string of box office disappointments beginning with the 3D film The Walk, followed by a live-action adaptation of Pinocchio that went straight to streaming, and his latest production, ‘Here,’ which is yet to be released in the UK and appears destined for the same fate. Consequently, he seems to be seeking a comeback, and he has recently expressed interest in Back to the Future as a musical; although it’s worth noting that a sequel is not being planned.
