Artistic Gymnastics: Men’s Team Final

As a moviegoer and gymnastics enthusiast, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the men’s team after they finished fourth in the last two Olympic Games. Typically, China and Japan are fighting for first and second place, while America is always in contention but with occasional mistakes. In the team final, one error can significantly alter the rotation order. I still recall watching the 2022 World Championships where Great Britain’s start didn’t go as planned. However, some of the other teams also faced challenges, allowing us to stay focused and secure a few high scores that ultimately turned things around. The competition will be tight, without a doubt. – Beth Tweddle

Rugby Sevens: Women’s Pool Matches

Megan Jones transitioned from Sevens to XVs rugby, achieving the Grand Slam with the Red Roses and earning the Premiership Women’s Player of the Season title in an impressive year. Now she’s back to her specialty, Sevens. With Ellie Kildunne, arguably the best female rugby back, joining the team, Great Britain has a decent shot at success. However, they face challenges as they finished eighth this season in the HSBC Sevens series and their form hasn’t been stellar. They’re approaching this tournament with cautious optimism, aiming to reach their peak performance when it matters most.

Hockey: Women’s Pool Matches

GB’s women have a favorable starting match against Spain in the pool stage, increasing the likelihood of them advancing to the quarter-finals. If they manage to avoid finishing fourth in their pool, which could potentially lead to facing the Dutch team, matches against Belgium, Germany, or China are winnable as individual encounters. The tournament format offers an opportunity for underdogs to surprise everyone and reach the semi-finals and medal match. The British squad must accumulate momentum and maintain the fitness of their players since they don’t have a deep roster. If they manage to accomplish this, anything could be possible for them. Rowing: Men’s and Women’s Quad Sculls Finals

The women’s quad team is truly impressive and current world champions in a challenging race event. They faced some setbacks during the winter with illnesses and injuries, but they have performed well this summer. As young athletes carrying the weight of the world title, I hope they can handle the pressure and bring home the gold at the upcoming Games. In contrast, the men’s quad team, led by Tom Barras, includes just one member from the previous silver medal-winning crew in Tokyo. However, their potential to excel in Paris is undeniable.
