Athletics: Women’s 200m Final

Without the presence of 200m Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah at the Games due to injury, this event is wide open with several American women and Daryll Neita from Team GB showing great promise. Neita has recently dedicated herself seriously to the 200m, and I’m thrilled she did as it significantly boosted her performance. She’s my top pick and could surprise many — she’s one of our rising stars in sprinting and is eager to compete with the best in the world. There’s no reason why Neita can’t stand on the podium alongside them. JEANETTE KWAKYE

Equestrian: Showjumping Individual Final

1. “Tina Cook here, and I’m excited to share that the final equestrian event of the Olympics is upon us! The Games always bring a unique energy to our sport since people from all over the globe tune in to watch horse competitions they might not usually follow, like canoeing or gymnastics. This year, we have an impressive lineup of talented riders ready to challenge the world’s best. Ben Maher, who won gold in Tokyo, is one of them, and he’s definitely a contender again. However, don’t count out Scott Brash and Harry Charles – they both believe they have what it takes to make history!”

Sailing: Men’s Dinghy Medal Race

In the world of sailing, a dinghy race is known for its unpretentious challenge. You’re provided with a boat and it’s up to you to navigate through the competition. The skill of the sailor takes center stage as there are no frills or complexities involved. It boils down to precise decision-making and maneuvering your way among the 40 boats. Among these talented sailors, Michael Beckett stands out as an exhilarating young prospect on the horizon. His upcoming clash with Matt Wearn from Australia in Marseilles is sure to be a thrilling spectacle. These two have consistently placed first and second since Tokyo at various events, with only a hair’s breadth separating them. Even during training sessions, their rivalry is intense. Yet, Michael remains unfazed by the challenge. I shan’t be surprised if he brings home the gold.

Track Cycling: Men’s Team Sprint Final

For the first time in over 20 years, Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny won’t be part of our team at the upcoming Olympics. This marks a new beginning, yet I remain optimistic that we can still secure a place on the podium. The Netherlands and Australia are the top contenders for the gold, but GB has a chance to battle it out with France for the bronze. The men’s sprint squad typically experience a slump in form leading up to the Olympics, only to astonish everyone with their impressive performances during the Games. They consistently rise to the occasion, silencing the skeptics. I anticipate a bronze medal finish, but I sincerely hope for an unexpected surprise. – Joanna Rowlett

Athletics: Men’s 1500m Final

For quite some time now, British men’s middle-distance running has been as strong as during the days of Coe, Ovett, and Cram. While Jake Wightman won’t be participating in the 800m heats tomorrow, Josh Kerr will take his place. Kerr is set to compete against an individual whose talent might not match his ego.
