Homicide: Life on the Street Confirmed for Streaming Debut

Homicide: Life on the Street, one of the most significant police dramas still “missing” from streaming platforms, will debut on Peacock this fall. Based on the book Homicide: A Year On the Killing Streets by David Simon — now a graphic novel, as well — has long been available on disc, but has never made its way to digital, in large part due to issues with the music rights and international distribution rights. A precursor to Law & Order, Homicide got seven seasons and a movie, and John Munch, the character played by Richard Belzer, would go on to be featured on the first fifteen seasons of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

AEW Having “Really Productive Renewal Negotiation” With Warner Bros. Discovery (Exclusive)

AEW is moving closer to finalizing its media rights negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), as talks continue beyond their initial five-year deal signed in 2019. In this agreement, AEW’s weekly show, Dynamite, airs on TNT every Wednesday at 8 PM ET. Since then, WBD and AEW have expanded the partnership to include additional programming such as Rampage, Collision, Rhodes to the Top, and All Access. Throughout this contract year, AEW President Tony Khan has expressed his desire to extend and grow their partnership with WBD, making Max, WBD’s streaming service, the exclusive platform for all AEW content in the future.

Matt Reeves’s “The Batman” universe is set to grow with the upcoming HBO series, “The Penguin,” which focuses on Colin Farrell’s beloved portrayal of Oswald Cobblepot as he climbs the ladder in Gotham City’s criminal realm. However, there have been some obstacles and at least two cancelled projects in the process. Yet, another unnamed spinoff from Reeves’s Bat-universe is on the way. Additionally, Reeves is a key figure behind “Batman: Caped Crusader,” an animated series on Prime Video that might not be connected to “The Batman” but shares similar themes with Reeves’s film.
