During the era of streaming, it might seem like you can watch anything whenever you want, but unfortunately, the original “Bad Boys” movies will be more difficult to find in January. Specifically, “Bad Boys” (1995) and “Bad Boys II” (2003) were removed from Netflix on December 31st, 2024. However, these films won’t be accessible on any subscription-based streaming platforms for some time, but they will become available on Tubi on January 25th.

The long-awaited debut of Squid Game Season 2 took place on Netflix this week, and it’s already smashing records for the streaming service in its initial days. Squid Game, one of Netflix’s most unexpected hits in recent years, captured viewers like no one could have foreseen, and quickly transformed into a global phenomenon. It came as no shock that Netflix would extend the series with additional episodes given its massive success. With the second season now available, fans of Squid Game are eagerly devouring the new content at an incredible pace.

In an astonishingly short span of time, the anime series Spy x Family has taken the world by storm and established itself as a dominant force. With the successful release of two seasons and a movie, all centered around the Forger family’s adventures, the shonen franchise is gearing up for its third season, slated to debut next year. The production houses CloverWorks and Wit have reaped substantial profits from their anime venture, but it’s creator Tatsuya Endo who truly emerges victorious in this success story. Continuing his work on the manga that has become his magnum opus, Endo recently shared a heartfelt message with fans as a New Year’s greeting.

For several weeks now, WWE has been broadcasting hints about the arrival of ex-AEW star Penta El Zero Miedo across their various shows. A basic zero with a line through it initially served as these hints, but it has since evolved into an image representing his mask.

Netflix often keeps its subscribers informed about significant additions ahead of time, sending out a newsletter that previews upcoming releases for each new month. Occasionally, however, major titles will appear on the platform without any prior notice or announcement, leaving viewers pleasantly surprised. A few such unexpected treats were added to Netflix this week, just as the year was drawing to a close, offering subscribers an exciting array of films to choose from as they look forward to 2025.

In the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” by Marvel Studios, Ryan Reynolds’ character Deadpool says to Hugh Jackman’s character, “Welcome to the MCU. You’re joining at a rather challenging time.” While Deadpool’s self-aware, pop culture reference humorously acknowledges the difficulties faced by Marvel after the conclusion of “Endgame”, it’s interesting to note that this comment comes when the studio is experiencing a resurgence despite concerns about superhero movie saturation (and the MCU’s lowest box office opening in a year with “The Marvels” just recently).
