Finally, it’s officially confirmed that Sony will host a new PlayStation State of Play broadcast towards the end of September 2024. There have been whispers and reports for over a month hinting at the possibility of this event happening in September. Given that Sony has held a State of Play or PlayStation Showcase event in this month consecutively for five years, it seemed likely we’d see another one this year too. Now, with all the speculation behind us, Sony has released details about the live stream.

11 Bit Studios’ “Frostpunk 2” debuted last week, initially through Early Access before becoming widely available on September 20th. The game has received high praise from critics, and it’s also been a commercial success. In fact, the developer has announced that over 350,000 copies have already been sold. Additionally, the estimated revenue from the game is sufficient to cover both its marketing and production expenses.

The animated version of Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul manga started airing in 2014, and since then, it has introduced characters like Ken Kaneki and other ghouls to a massive fanbase who continue to support the series. A sequel titled Tokyo Ghoul: re ended in 2018. Now, for the first time, you can purchase a Blu-ray collection that includes all episodes of Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Ghoul:root, and Tokyo Ghoul:re. Ever since horror master Junji Ito began sketching manga that left readers squirming in their seats, it seemed like an insurmountable challenge to bring his work to life on screen. With Ito’s intricate details and visually unsettling imagery spanning over the years, anime adaptations have attempted but mostly fell short of meeting fan expectations. However, that all changed with Toonami, Studio Drive, and Production I.G.’s Uzumaki, as this limited series has achieved what many thought was unattainable – successfully embodying the spirit of Junji Ito’s art, resulting in a spine-tingling anime that’s ideal for Halloween viewing.

Over the weekend for Batman Day 2024, I was thrilled to get my hands on a Mezco Toyz collection of 3.75-inch scale figures inspired by Tim Burton’s iconic 1989 Batman movie featuring Michael Keaton. The set includes a trio of figures – Batman, Joker, and Joker Goon – each with numerous interchangeable heads, arms, and accessories to customize their looks. To make it perfect, they also released a Batmobile vehicle that fits the Batman figure and boasts cool features like an armored canopy attachment, flip-up weapons, rotating wheels, and an attachable exhaust flame. It’s definitely going to be a great addition to my collection!
