Additionally, reports suggest that Microsoft might introduce an Xbox Game Pass tier requiring players to watch ads before playing games. This proposal aligns with Microsoft’s previously stated intention to integrate ads into games, which sparked threats of boycotts among Xbox fans last year. Despite the negative response from the public, Microsoft has shown no signs of addressing these concerns and instead seems to be intensifying its approach.
In about a month, Konami’s “Silent Hill 2” will debut as a timed console exclusive on PlayStation 5. For quite some time, we’ve been aware of this exclusivity, but a fresh trailer provides us with details regarding its duration. As per the trailer, PlayStation holds exclusive rights to the game for an entire year, ending on October 8, 2025. After that, Konami will have the liberty to make the game available on Xbox Series X|S and potentially even the Nintendo Switch 2, if it’s released by then. Until then, gamers can enjoy “Silent Hill 2” only on PS5 and PC.
One of the greatest soccer players of all-time seems to be coming to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. In a surprising post on social media, Cristiano Ronaldo shared a video teasing his role in the game. The trailer does not actually show Ronaldo in the fighting game, but does say that “a legendary player joins a legendary game.” It’s possible he could just appear as an alternate skin for one of the other playable characters, but there’s no way of knowing at this time. With Tokyo Game Show around the corner, we could learn more information there.

It has been announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers will no longer have free access to two popular games on PS3. Despite its lower sales compared to the PS1, PS2, or PS4, and likely being outsold by the upcoming PS5, the PS3 was a low point for Sony initially, due to high sticker prices and late release compared to the Xbox 360. However, it managed to outperform its Xbox counterpart in sales, which is quite remarkable given that the Xbox 360 is Microsoft’s most successful console. One of the ways it recovered was by producing excellent software.
