An update on the Steam page for Crimson Desert reveals the game now includes Denuvo, a software designed to prevent cheating and piracy. However, Denuvo is unpopular with many gamers. While it stops unauthorized modifications, it’s also known for causing performance problems on PCs, leading to immediate criticism of any game that uses it. It appears Crimson Desert is already facing similar negative reactions.

The game, led by former Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, appears to be incredibly chaotic based on its newest gameplay trailer.

Gorr the God Butcher first appeared in Jason Aaron’s Thor: God of Thunder comics. He was a uniquely powerful and destructive enemy, unlike anything Thor had ever encountered. It took three different Thors, working together across time, to finally defeat him – but not before he killed countless gods throughout the universe and conquered the divine realm in King Thor’s future. For the first few issues, Gorr remained an enigma, known only for wielding the incredibly powerful Necrosword. Thirteen years ago today, Thor: God of Thunder #6 revealed Gorr’s backstory and simultaneously introduced another of Marvel’s most dangerous and memorable villains.

While Evil Dead (1981) was an early work, it showed the potential of writer/director Sam Raimi, who was still developing his distinctive style. After the film became a hit, Raimi fully demonstrated his skills in the sequel, solidifying his reputation as a talented horror director.

It’s so frustrating when Netflix cancels a show I was excited about! Honestly, it totally kills my motivation to even start watching sometimes. The thing is, even if a show is cancelled, it doesn’t mean it’s not worth watching! Just because there won’t be more seasons doesn’t make enjoying what is there a waste of time. Netflix does cancel some shows for good reasons, but they’ve also cut some genuinely great ones way too soon, and it’s a real bummer.

Even though the company essentially copied Nintendo by releasing a less expensive, region-locked console in its own country, it hasn’t been enough to take the lead in sales. While things have improved, it’s still being consistently outsold by the competition.

Indie studio Last Praetorian Interactive has released the official release date trailer for Project Vesperi. Yadav announced at the event that Gaming Copilot will be available on current-generation consoles later this year, and they plan to expand its availability to other gaming services as well.

The developers of Mortal Kombat II significantly increased the game’s violence with new characters and finishing moves. One particularly gruesome example is Kung Lao’s “Vertical Slice” fatality. This move involves Kung Lao using his signature hat to either slice off an opponent’s head or cut them cleanly in half. While both are brutal, the decapitation appears slightly less graphic. It shows Kung Lao swiftly slicing his hat through the opponent from head to waist, causing their upper and lower bodies to separate, with blood and gore spilling from the severed areas.
