Season 3 of School Spirits is now streaming on Paramount+. The show follows Maddie Nears, played by Peyton List, a teenager who’s investigating her own disappearance from the afterlife. As she solves the mystery, she uncovers more secrets and lies than she ever expected. Last season, Maddie briefly returned to the living world, but her best friend Simon (Kristian Ventura) was left behind, and her spirit boyfriend, Wally, was left facing a difficult choice. This season promises even more drama with the addition of horror legend Jennifer Tilly as a new villain.

A new PS5 update is available now! Firmware version 26.01-12.60.00 introduces improvements to the console’s social features. You can now see read receipts for messages, letting you know when someone has seen what you sent. The update also lets you instantly join games your friends are already playing directly from the Welcome Hub. As usual, Sony has also boosted the PS5 and PS5 Pro’s overall performance and stability.

Voice actor Kozo Shioya sadly passed away on January 20th, 2026, due to a cerebral hemorrhage, his agency, Aoni Production, announced. Aoni released a statement expressing their gratitude for the support Shioya received during his 71 years and noted that a private funeral was held with close family. They apologized for the delay in sharing the news.

I always loved Darth Maul as a character, even though The Phantom Menace itself didn’t quite land with everyone at the time. It’s funny, when a character really catches on with fans, it’s tough for the franchise to let them stay gone! Maul is a perfect example – after being cut in half, he’s popped up in a bunch of different Star Wars shows and movies. I’m going to walk you through all his reappearances. Just to be clear, when I say ‘resurrection’ here, I simply mean he returned in something other than The Phantom Menace, not that he kept dying and coming back over and over again.

The latest issue picks up where the last one left off, following John and the Martian after their confrontation with the White Martian. John is struggling personally, as his honesty about being a Martian has driven a wedge between him and his wife. Meanwhile, a sense of isolation is taking hold in his hometown, which unfortunately creates an opportunity for the White Martian to regain power. Absolute Martian Manhunter #8 delivers a particularly impactful story, and its themes of connection and community feel especially relevant given current events. It’s a moving narrative that will resonate with many readers.
