The animated series “Arcane,” widely regarded as one of the top TV and movie adaptations based on a video game (specifically “League of Legends”), was developed in collaboration with Netflix and Fortiche Production. Released in 2021, it captivated fans immediately, leaving them eager for season 2 in 2024. However, Riot Games has announced a shift away from “Arcane,” focusing instead on its original gaming endeavors due to concerns over the escalating production and marketing expenses, which may have exceeded budget estimates significantly.

It’s no secret the change from Overwatch’s 6v6 game mode to Overwatch 2’s 5v5 game mode was criticized by fans. As a result, Blizzard has recently released a 6v6 beta playlist for Overwatch 2, giving fans a return to the classic gameplay they were used to. However, fans have wondered if 6v6 is here to stay in Overwatch 2, replacing the newer 5v5 game mode the sequel launched with. Some players worry Blizzard will permanently drop 6v6 and return to 5v5, while others hope it becomes its own playable section of the game, giving fans the option to play either game mode and keep both alive.

The widely recognized title from Electronic Arts (EA), known as Battlefield among others like Apex Legends, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Star Wars Battlefront, and Star Wars Jedi, is now available at no cost. EA, also recognized as Electronic Arts, is the powerhouse behind numerous game series, including Dragon Age, The Sims, FIFA, College Football, NHL, Madden NFL, Burnout, Dead Space, F1, Medal of Honor, Mirror’s Edge, Plants vs. Zombies, Skate, SSX, UFC, Super Mega Baseball, PGA Tour, and an extensive list of additional titles. This company is a major player and IP owner in the video game industry.

Starting off the new year, “Family Guy” is coming back on Adult Swim, and they’re starting things big with a marathon of episodes. Originally not an Adult Swim show, “Family Guy” has grown to become one of their most iconic releases, thanks in large part to the network’s support. The success of this animated sitcom might be marking its 25th anniversary soon, but it wouldn’t have reached that milestone without being aired on Adult Swim during reruns.

Live-action and anime aren’t typically a good blend, with exceptions being few like the successful adaptation of One Piece. However, most live-action adaptations of popular anime series haven’t lived up to their animated counterparts, often leaving fans disappointed. Yet, despite this trend, creators Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari have given their approval for a live-action film based on their manga, Oshi no Ko. The live-action movie, titled Oshi no Ko: The Final Act, was released in Japan on December 20th. Toei is handling the distribution of the film, while Amazon streamed the TV series worldwide through its Prime Video service.

In its latest installment, the spin-off series titled “Dragon Ball Daima” delves deeper into the Dragon Ball universe, shedding light on why the Dragon Balls were created originally. This new anime has been a significant addition to the Dragon Ball franchise, taking Goku and Supreme Kai on an exciting journey through the Demon Realm. The Demon Realm is proving to be crucial, as it’s the very source of the multiverse depicted in other Dragon Ball series.
