Developed by Omega Force, Pokopia is a charming mix of Animal Crossing, Dragon Quest Builders, and Pokemon. While each of these games has been done before, Pokopia combines them incredibly well. It’s a game full of personality with surprisingly complex gameplay that’s easy to get lost in for a very long time.

While not as devastating as the loss of Concord, it’s still disappointing to see how quickly this Bungie shooter has declined. It still has a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam, even with fewer players, but it’s clear the game has lost some of its initial excitement. It’s hard to see what happened to a game that once had so much promise, and probably still does.

Experiences with this game will differ, but the story isn’t worth paying much attention to. While Toxic Commando doesn’t need a heavy focus on narrative, it surprisingly tries to deliver one. You control a squad taking on a mysterious delivery job, and things quickly fall apart. They become infected and team up with a new ally to destroy the source of the infection. It sounds straightforward, but the game is filled with bad dialogue (“Is there a Mr Gallagher?”), clumsy attempts at humor, and characters that feel like tired stereotypes. It’s strange why the developers include so many cutscenes, but thankfully you can skip them.
