David Gordon Green’s series of Halloween movies received a mix of positive and negative responses from viewers, leaving some cautiously hopeful about his future The Exorcist trilogy. However, the underwhelming critical and commercial reception of The Exorcist: Believer led to the cancellation of his plans for two additional films. Green has since shared some aspects he intended to delve into with these dropped storylines, calling them “ambitious” and “complex.” He also mentioned that the pressure was different when working on The Exorcist compared to his work on the Halloween movies. For quite some time, fans of Stephen King have eagerly anticipated a grand live-action adaptation of “The Dark Tower”. Earlier attempts by Ron Howard and Universal Pictures to turn the book series into a TV show and movie franchise that would seamlessly move between cinemas and home televisions never materialized. The 2017 film adaptation of “The Dark Tower” was released, followed by plans for an Amazon TV series adaptation which also failed to materialize. Now, the rights to King’s masterpiece have been acquired by Mike Flanagan, a well-liked director in the genre field, who has expressed his intentions to make a bold move in its adaptation

Donald Glover Talks Anime Influence on Childish Gambino Tour

Apart from incorporating anime elements in his Childish Gambino series, Donald Glover, also recently developed an anime short titled “Yoppaman: Happy Grits Training Video“, in collaboration with creator Zack Fox. In Fox’s own words about the project, “During 2022, I began creating an animated concept alongside my long-time collaborator Chibu Okere. We are both Atlanta natives who were raised on shows like Devilman, FLCL, Evangelion, Cartoon Network from the ’90s, and naturally, southern black folklore, music, comedy, fashion, and more. As such, we aimed to produce something that blended all these elements together, similar to a rich, flavorful gumbo.”
