As a thrilled supporter, I’m excited to share that today, we were treated to a fresh trailer confirming the highly-anticipated release of the shooter game in “late 2025.” However, they didn’t specify an exact date yet.

The first launch of Stalker 2 was rocky with numerous glitches, even though it had several delays. Yet, this can be forgiven considering the geopolitical hurdles experienced by GSC Game World, which resulted in their move from Kyiv to the Czech Republic.

In an unusual, self-referential preview video, using game graphics, soldiers gather around a colonel who seems relaxed, controlling what looks like Stalker 2 on a TV with a device similar to a PlayStation controller. Later, it’s made clear this is indeed a PlayStation-like controller.

The upcoming PS5 version of the game was revealed in an entertaining new video, starring a recognizable figure from Stalker 2. I won’t ruin the surprises, so feel free to watch it here if you’re interested.

As reported by GSC Game World, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is set to maximize the capabilities of the DualSense controller on PlayStation 5, with features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers designed to increase player immersion. Additionally, they are working on further technical enhancements for the PlayStation 5 Pro. This development is exciting news for those who upgraded to the Pro model last year, although it remains uncertain what kind of improvement gamers can anticipate compared to the standard version of the console. As the release date draws near, we can hope that the developers will provide more details about the game’s features.

GSC Game World’s open-world horror shooter, funded by Xbox Game Studios, is now available on PlayStation 5. It fully utilizes the unique features of the DualSense controller, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, for an immersive gaming experience. Additionally, improvements specifically for the PS5 Pro are being worked on by the developers.

Initially planned for release on Xbox Series and PC platforms, the significantly enhanced survival game will now make its way to the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro a year following its initial launch.

Although the game’s South Korean developers have labeled it as an RPG, the gameplay descriptions hint that it is closer to an online looter extraction game. In this medieval fantasy setting, a player can explore dungeons either alone or with up to two companions. The objective is to gather valuable items within the dungeon by defeating enemy monsters and potentially hostile players. Successful completion of the mission requires reaching the exit point, allowing the player to carry the loot back to their base.
