STALKER

The revised version enhances the sometimes debated A-Life 2.0 framework, making non-player characters behave more realistically in various scenarios. This includes smarter choices during battles, a more organic reaction to player interactions, wiser equipment selection, and enhanced accuracy when firing. Additionally, issues with NPC detection were rectified, and the stealth system received an upgrade.

That’s quite an extensive collection indeed, and it’s no surprise coming from GSC, who have consistently put in tremendous effort to enhance STALKER 2 ever since its launch in December 2024.

On February 13, 2025, updates for Stalker 2 were shared on its Steam page, detailing over 1,700 enhancements and bug fixes. Here are the comprehensive notes for your perusal:

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you can locate a sniper rifle suppressor/silencer within the Meat, Fish, and Vegetables Point of Interest (POI) in the Pripyat region. This spot is southeast of the Energetik Palace of Culture base and to the south right of Sunny Kindergarten POI. Keep in mind that there are many Monolith soldiers nearby, so it’s best to prepare for a potential battle as you climb the building to grab the sniper silencer.

In this latest update, I’ve noticed quite a few significant tweaks. For one, the NPC shooting accuracy has been refined, making it less likely for bullets to penetrate walls and adding more unpredictability to their aim. Stealth mechanics have also been revamped, with some enemies gaining new abilities, like the Controller. The update enhances overall NPC behavior and performance during specific sequences. Plus, it addresses numerous glitches that could disrupt both main missions and side quests. Over 450 adjustments have been made to the game map and level design, addressing spots where players might get stuck, such as X-17 Lab.

Today’s patch notes indicate a substantial size, a fact that isn’t new as this is not the first one surpassing the 100GB mark. This underscores the game’s initial condition, but more importantly, it showcases the dedication of the developers to deliver STALKER 2 in its complete glory.
