Among the major updates for A-Life, a notable addition in the latest game plan is the launch of the Mod Development Kit (SDK) for the game. This tool empowers players to design larger, more spectacular mods. Although we currently have outstanding mods such as Stalker Infinity, this will open up opportunities for modders to construct unique landscapes, innovative mechanics, and much more.
The team behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has announced that they plan to frequently update the game this year, with improvements in all areas. Significant updates are intended to be rolled out every three months. Additionally, the developers aim to test new features twice – first internally and then as part of a closed beta testing phase – before releasing any given update.
In the developer’s post on Steam, there’s a hint about the type of rewards mutants will drop – a tooth next to “mutant loot”. This suggests that these rewards might include useful body parts like gizzards and entrails. Right now, when you kill a mutant, they don’t yield anything, unlike defeated human enemies who can be looted for items such as bullets, food, and boots. This means that battling multiple mutants can quickly deplete your ammunition supply, especially the tougher ones. Not finding any reward after using up valuable ammo can be frustrating to some players.
“The Zone is evolving and will continue to,” GSC Game World said in an accompanying news post on Steam. “Throughout the year, we will be delivering updates and hotfixes dedicated to making the game better in every aspect. With proper planning, double testing (internal and closed beta for big updates) of all features and fixes, and your feedback, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will become the game we imagined—and you deserve.”
Today, the creators of STALKER 2 unveiled their current roadmap, focusing primarily on the upcoming developments in the second quarter of 2025. While it’s likely there are additional plans from GSC Game World, they chose to share only what they have in store over the next three months, as this is a substantial amount of information in itself.
