Microsoft, Google, and Meta work together once again, but this time about browsers instead of President Trump

As reported by the Linux Foundation, backers of Chromium-based web browsers are creating a shared platform where open source developers can collaborate without bias. Existing Chromium initiatives will continue to operate as they are, but any new projects originating from Chromium browser supporters will fall under the umbrella of the Linux Foundation.

Microsoft joins Meta, Google and other tech giants in donating $1 million to President Trump’s record-breaking inauguration fund

A representative from Microsoft confirmed to CNBC that they donated $500,000 each to both President Trump’s and President Biden’s initial inauguration campaigns. The contribution for 2025 is reportedly double the amount they typically give to inaugural funds, but Microsoft has not disclosed the reason behind this. It’s speculated that Microsoft could have aimed to match the substantial pledges other tech companies had publicly announced.
