Catelynn Lowell Opens Up About Shocking Rift with Daughter Carly’s Adoptive Parents

Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra are resolving their disagreement with the parents who adopted their 15-year-old daughter, Carly.

The stars of “Teen Mom” – those who put Carly up for adoption back in 2009 and later had children Nova (aged 10), Vaeda (6), and Rya (3) as adults – shared their story about the strained relationship they developed with Teresa Davis and Brandon Davis.

As Catelynn explains, everything started when they posted pictures of Carly following a meeting with her, which was about two years prior.

In her podcast on April 1st, Catelynn explained a photo she saw, saying, “We were all walking, and it showed our backs.” Later, Tyler shared another photo – this time showing himself, Carly, and Nova from behind.

The couple, aged 33, were approached by Teresa and Brandon regarding the photos they had posted, despite an apparent agreement that such sharing was acceptable. Tyler clarified their stance as, “They told us, ‘We’re okay with just showing the back of her head, as long as her face isn’t visible.’

It appears that Teresa and Brandon’s relationship may have become strained when they discussed their upcoming meeting with Carly. Catelynn mentioned that Teresa rejected the proposal for a summer gathering, prompting a text from her expressing sadness over the state of affairs.

Catelynn went on to say that she felt hurt by my words,” she explained, describing how Teresa’s replies soon faded away. “She simply replied, ‘Your manner of speaking about us isn’t kind, so we won’t be replying for a while.’

Ultimately, Catelynn revealed that they learned from their adoption counselor that Teresa and Brandon had ended communication with them. According to the MTV celebrities, they are currently prohibited from sending presents to Carly, whom they stated they haven’t met for the past two years.

Catelynn made it clear that if Carly were to find out, it would be important for her to understand, “We didn’t give up on trying.” This helps everyone associated with the adoption process comprehend the situation better.

Tyler pointed out during the podcast that it wouldn’t be easy or natural for him to suddenly suppress or change his affectionate behavior towards the child, given that he’s shown love for 15 years. To the child, this is simply who Tyler has always been.

He went on to explain, “Initially, our intention was merely to check if our actions were causing distress to Carly. Essentially, we wanted to understand if she was expressing, ‘I prefer not to receive photos of my siblings, as it upsets me. I don’t want these gifts.’

As a lifestyle expert, I can share this insight: Given our personal experiences and deep understanding of family dynamics, it’s understandable that Catelynn and Tyler are choosing to be open and honest about their current estrangement from Carly’s adoptive parents. This transparency is often a reflection of the complexities and evolutions in relationships, especially those rooted in unique circumstances like theirs.

Catelynn clarified, “If Carly gets to find out that we didn’t give up, it’s only fair that she does. This helps everyone connected with the adoption understand our efforts.
