More details surrounding Paul Danan’s death have come to light.
Four months following the demise of the actor, who gained prominence on the British soap opera “Hollyoaks” during his teenage years, an inquest has determined that his death was due to a lethal mix of drugs, as stated by Assistant Coroner Deborah Rookes in the Avon Coroner’s Court of England, according to the BBC.
At the inquest held on May 28, the coroner stated that traces of heroin, cocaine, methadone, codeine, pregabalin, and zopiclone were discovered in Danan’s body. The mix of these drugs, some prescription and others illegal, along with his benzodiazepine use, led to “fatal respiratory failure,” as reported by the BBC.
Additionally, Rookes clarified to the court that the demise of the Celebrity Big Brother celebrity was due to an unintended incident or accident.
The coroner stated, “At present, I lack any proof indicating that Paul was contemplating suicide during this period.” It’s important to note that Mr. Danan had a prolonged history of substance abuse and battled with his psychological well-being.
She added, “Paul Danan was clearly much loved and is very much missed.”
Before the court announced the cause of death for the former “Celebrity Love Island” star, a tribute from his mother Beverley Danan honoring her son’s legacy was publicly read.
