It’s no surprise that chainsaws aren’t just confined to the anime realm. In Lollipop Chainsaw, a cheerleader finds herself in a supernatural crisis that puts her boyfriend in a dangerous predicament. It’s up to the protagonist Juliet to hack her way through and reach the finish line. Recently, an ingenious cosplayer has merged these two worlds into one amazing fusion for fans of both anime and video games.
If you haven’t come across “Lollipop Chainsaw”, a video game with elements that could translate perfectly into an exhilarating anime series, consider this. The game debuted in 2012 and revolves around Juliet, who carries her boyfriend’s head on her belt while battling zombies to save him from being undead. More recently, a remastered version of the game has been released to appeal to modern audiences, as its action-packed gameplay and vibrant style still captivate players. While Studio MAPPA hasn’t officially confirmed a second season for Chainsaw Man anime, they are set to return with “Chainsaw Man The Movie: The Reze Arc,” focusing on the arrival of Reze and her impact on Denji’s life. Given that this arc is one of the most significant in the series and features some of the franchise’s wildest moments, it seems fitting that it will be adapted into a movie. At present, there’s no word on when the film will hit theaters in Japan or North America.
Chainsaw Man’s Manga Present
In the latest chapters of Denji’s manga, things have never appeared more grim. Given the past of the Chainsaw Devil, this assertion holds significant weight. Recently, Denji has been through one of the most distressing incidents in his life due to the combined efforts of the Chainsaw Man Church and the Japanese Government. Now that Pochita inhabits Denji’s body, the world is at risk because Denji no longer has control. Despite the alliance between Asa Mitaka, Katana Man, and Famine attempting to halt Pochita’s rampage, overcoming him won’t be simple.
It could take several years for Studio MAPPA to animate the current manga events of Chainsaw Man, given that there are over a hundred chapters yet to be adapted. However, as Chainsaw Man enthusiasts are aware, the delay is likely to make the final product even more satisfying.
