The “Reze Arc” movie will hit Japanese theaters on September 19th. At AnimeJapan 2025’s panel for the film “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc”, through Anime News Network, the cast of the series including Kikunosuke Toya (Denji), Tomori Kusonoki (Makima), and Maaya Uchida (Angel Devil) shared their favorite scenes from the popular first season. Toya, expressing sympathy for Denji’s struggling side, chose the character’s most revolting kiss as his preferred moment. In episode 7, Denji shares a disgusting smooch with a heavily intoxicated Himeno. However, her alcohol consumption quickly catches up to her during the kiss, causing her to vomit violently.

Throughout the series, voice actors consistently maintained their characters’ original essence. Notably, Kusonoki, the voice behind the eerily terrifying Makima, selected a crucial scene from Season 1 for portrayal. In this scene, Makima invites Denji out for noodles following their encounter. Initially, it appears as a kind gesture; however, it sets the stage for a deep and dangerous power struggle between them. This intricate relationship will be further explored in the Reze Arc movie.

In this scenario, Uchida was the unique voice actor who broke character during their selection. This voice, belonging to the Angel Devil, opted for one of Aki’s most poignant scenes following Himeno’s demise. The seemingly ordinary conversation between Aki and Himeno about smoking, which occurred in a flashback shot from Aki’s perspective, becomes particularly impactful due to the shared sorrow felt by Aki and the viewers.

In December of last year, the official summary for the “Reze Arc” movie was unveiled, and it seems like things are looking promising for the protagonist, Denji. The synopsis hints that Makima has finally taken him out on a date. However, during a sudden downpour, Denji finds himself seeking refuge under a bus stop, only to encounter a café worker named Reze – a girl who adds an intriguing new element to the storyline.

For individuals who have delved into the manga, it’s just as tricky to sum up Denji as a man who cherishes his dog. Just like in Chainsaw Man, things aren’t always what they seem in the Reze Arc. Without revealing any spoilers, this series is known for its unexpected twists.
