Chainsaw Man Theory Suggests Pochita’s New Targets Are Actually Related

As a dedicated Chainsaw Man fan with years of following this thrilling manga under my belt, I must say that the current storyline has taken the dark and gritty narrative to new heights – or should I say depths? Denji’s emotional turmoil and Pochita’s reign have left fans reeling, and the latest theory about Pochita’s target list sends chills down my spine.

In the manga series “Chainsaw Man,” Denji’s situation has never appeared more dire than it does now, and given the background of the Chainsaw Devil, this statement carries significant weight. Lately, Denji has suffered an emotional wound so severe that he has relinquished control of his body to Pochita, the chainsaw dog dwelling within him. As the violence intensifies, readers of “Chainsaw Man” are increasingly questioning the grisly events unfolding in recent chapters. One popular theory posits that Pochita is deliberately targeting certain devils during his current rampage of destruction.

Heed this notice: If you haven’t read Chapter 175 of the Chainsaw Man manga, beware as we’ll delve into spoiler territory. Due to Nayuta’s apparent demise, Denji has handed over full control of his body to Pochita, thus unleashing the full might of the Chainsaw Devil. In the ensuing chaos, Denji has wreaked havoc, taking down formidable foes such as the Mouth Devil and Ear Devil. The aftermath of this power has been catastrophic for humanity, as they now grapple with the loss of a crucial part of their bodies – mouths.

Pochita’s Unique Way of Helping Denji

One unique theory regarding Pochita’s current kill list relates to Denji and his past trauma. With the devils that have been taken down so far by Denji’s “best friend”, many of which certainly fit the bill when it comes to the anime protagonist’s earlier years and the troubles that Denji has experienced up to this point. With Asa Mikata now fighting against Denji, the War Devil is going to have to pull out a miracle to stop Pochita from causing more serious problems for humanity.

Each memory or idea that has been wiped away in some way is connected to some aspect of Denji’s past trauma. It seems to me that Pochita removing these memories is a means of shielding Denji. This is the epitome of captivating storytelling, I pay my respects to Fujimoto.

In the near future, Denji and Pochita are set to make their return on the screen, this time in an animated series, following the release of the film “Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc”. Instead of jumping straight into a second season, Studio MAPPA intends to introduce the character Reze through a cinematic release. It may still be quite some time before Asa Mikata appears in an anime adaptation, but her debut is sure to create a significant impact whenever it happens.
