As a long-time fan of manga and anime, I can confidently say that the latest developments in “Chainsaw Man” have me absolutely hooked! The second part of this action-packed series has been nothing short of spectacular, with Tatsuki Fujimoto masterfully weaving intricate plots and suspenseful battles.
As anime enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the comeback of Denji and his team on screen, the “Chainsaw Man” manga continues its exciting journey with some of the shonen genre’s most significant happenings yet. In this high-speed, gory comic series, the Chainsaw Devil has been sharing the leading role with Asa Mitaka, also known as the current War Devil. Due to some harrowing experiences in Denji’s life, Pochita is spiraling out of control, and it falls upon Yoru to contain him. Lady Liberty, wielding some new ultimate weapons, could potentially be Asa’s trump card to halt the Chainsaw Devil’s rampage.
heads up! if you haven’t read the latest issue of Chainsaw Man, Chapter 177, be aware that we’re about to delve into some major spoiler territory. In the newest addition to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s incredible storyline, Asa has merged not just one but two Devils – the Gun Devil and the Tank Devil – within herself. Although she lost her arms in battle against the Chainsaw Devil, the War Devil equipped her with new gauntlets, which were even able to injure Denji. To cap it all off, the final scenes of this chapter depict a ferocious attack by Asa on an enormous number of members from the “National Pistol Association”. And get this – the Statue of Liberty itself makes an appearance in the last panels!
The Statue of Liberty Devil?
Fissures appear on the Statue of Liberty’s head due to Asa, leading some to speculate that the War Devil may have influence over the United States because of its historical background. The West has had its fair share of conflicts and revolutions, making it possible for Yoru to manipulate certain parts of the country. It could be that, like in Ghostbusters 2, the War Devil might gain control over the Statue of Liberty, treating it as an anime mech suit.
It’s quite possible that this is the most significant aspect in the entire chapter. Given America’s history as a country born from revolutions and conflicts, it seems logical that Yoru would possess some form of authority or sway over it. #chainsawman #csm177 #chainsawman177 #???????

Can The War Devil Defeat The Chainsaw Devil?
Once Asa was able to lay claim to both the Tank and Gun Devils, she was able to deliver a definitive blow to Denji that knocked off several of his appendages. Even with the Chainsaw Devil taking out scores of devils, and fighting back the likes of Famine and Katana Man, the War Devil seems to have the advantage at the moment. Harnessing the index fingers of hundreds of gun owners and now incorporating the Statue of Liberty into her upcoming attack, Pochita might have to start worry about what is coming its way as the pooch rages on.
Chainsaw Man’s Anime Future
As a devoted fan, it’s a bummer to know that it could be years before Studio MAPPA brings the ongoing story of the manga to life in an anime series. Right now, we’re deep into Denji’s early adventures, following his transformation into the Chainsaw Devil and his work for the government, all while uncovering secrets about both friends and foes. Although they haven’t announced a second season just yet, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Denji will make it to the big screen soon!
The film titled “Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc” will continue the storyline from the initial season, introducing a previously unknown character who is expected to significantly influence the series’ plot. At present, MAPPA has not disclosed any specific release date for the movie. However, since Chainsaw Man is scheduled to appear at this year’s Jump Festa in winter, it could be an ideal opportunity for them to share their plans for the franchise moving forward.
