In the chilly days of December 2024, whispers spread about me, the fans, claiming that Charlie Cox would reprise his role as Daredevil in Avengers: Doomsday. At last, the man himself has spoken up regarding these intriguing rumors.
It’s clear that a gym owner in Australia and his wife shared a photo featuring Daredevil actor, Charlie Cox, with the caption suggesting he was preparing for his role in an upcoming Avengers film titled “Avengers: Doomsday”. The caption was later altered, but due to screenshots circulating online, many agreed that Charlie Cox would appear in this movie as reported by several news outlets and confirmed across various social media platforms.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Charlie Cox shared some interesting details. He mentioned that he had traveled to Australia over Christmas to be with his loved ones. While at a gym on the final day of his visit, he kindly agreed to take a picture with another couple. The couple claimed that he was preparing for season two of Daredevil, but in reality, he believed they thought he was training for Avengers: Doomsday, as that’s what he had told them he was working on.
On one occasion, he explained to ET, individuals not typically involved in the [entertainment] industry may struggle with understanding jargon or nuances, but in this case, someone mistakenly posted that he was preparing for his role in The Avengers. This statement was untrue, and he felt disappointed. He had to clarify the situation to his superiors by saying, ‘I didn’t make that statement,’ obviously. Why would I lie about something like that? Why would I fabricate such a story? However, I believe they were confused rather than intentionally spreading false information.

There’s a chance the pair may have misheard or misinterpreted what he said. It’s also plausible that Cox could be concealing something, given Andrew Garfield’s persistent claims for more than a year that he wouldn’t be in Spider-Man: No Way Home, followed by his appearance in the movie through that portal.
It appears that Charlie Cox, the actor, has shown a keen interest in joining films within the DC Universe. During an event like FAN EXPO San Francisco in 2024 while promoting “Daredevil: Born Again,” one fan asked his co-star Wilson Bethel about their dream characters to play in a DC film. In response, Charlie Cox mentioned The Joker as his preferred choice.

He expressed that due to the exceptional talent of the actors they’ve worked with before, he wouldn’t feel comfortable tackling the role. However, he mused about the idea of playing the Joker, finding it intriguing. He referenced Heath Ledger’s iconic portrayal of the character and suggested that if a fresh interpretation could be developed, it would be exciting.
