Charlie Cox Wants to See The Defenders Appear in An Avengers Movie Too

As a die-hard fan, I recently got the chance to sit down with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio for an exclusive peek into the upcoming Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again.” Naturally, the discussion steered towards the exciting possibilities that await their characters. When it comes to Daredevil, there’s a lingering question about whether he could potentially become an Avenger himself. But just as intriguing is the prospect of the Defenders reuniting to face a colossal threat. And let’s not forget, could they one day align with the Avengers to combat an extinction-level danger? It all depends on scheduling conflicts for the actors and fan demand, but Charlie Cox seems ready for such an adventure, no matter what shape it takes.

In an interview with ComicBook, Cox indicated a preference for Daredevil joining forces not only with the Defenders but also the Avengers. Although he mentioned his eagerness to work again with his street-level combat allies, his enthusiasm seemed equally strong, if not stronger, for collaborating with Sam Wilson, Bruce Banner, Thor and their peers.

Reflecting upon the question, he pondered whether to collaborate with some cherished comrades (The Defenders), or join the Avengers. He found himself in a challenging predicament, torn between his deep affection for these companions…

Cox went on to say, “Over time, I’ve grown quite fond of this character and his tales. I’m particularly mindful that there are some fantastic team-ups in these stories. Notably, Daredevil is a crucial figure in several Avengers comics. For the sake of the character, I believe it would be a magnificent tribute and a wonderful nod to our rich history if such a collaboration were to occur.

Towards the end of the interview, Vincent D’Onforio suggested that Tom Cox invite his fellow Defenders when he steps up to join The Avengers. An idea that Cox found acceptable.

Could these pairings happen? It’s highly probable that Daredevil will join forces with the Avengers, almost guaranteeing it. However, if Charlie Cox’s Daredevil gathers his team following the Born Again events, could Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist be summoned to “Assemble”? It’s evident that Cox is thrilled not only about continuing his role as the Man Without Fear, but also curious about what lies ahead. Given that his Netflix co-stars (such as in Echo and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) have been absent from the screen since their time on the streaming platform, it’s reasonable to assume they would be open to reprising their roles.

The initial two episodes of “Daredevil: Reborn” will be released on Disney+ starting March 4, with the following seven episodes being unveiled each week thereafter.
