I was deeply saddened to learn of Shannen Doherty’s passing. As a fan of her work since my childhood, it feels like losing a dear friend. Her talent and charisma shone through in every role she played, particularly as Brenda on “Beverly Hills, 90210.” But her impact went beyond just entertainment – her bravery in sharing her cancer journey resonated with so many of us, reminding us of the importance of strength, resilience, and kindness in the face of adversity.

Holly Marie Combs is charmed to have known Shannen Doherty.

After Doherty’s passing, the actress from Charmed reminisced about their strong connection, referring to her long-term co-star as her “sister of 31 years and better half” in retrospect.

“I have a feeling of emptiness and can’t get enough air in my lungs,” Combs wrote on Instagram July 15th. “A piece of me is gone, yet I know what your words and actions would be towards me in this moment.”

The fifty-year-old man continued by expressing how Doherty’s unwavering determination had touched the lives of countless individuals over the years. This included Combs’ three children with his ex-partner David Donoho: Finley (twenty), Riley (seventeen), and Kelley (fifteen).

I’ll walk with your unwavering determination and chest-thumping pride, just as you did, my dear Doherty. I’ll speak truthfully and stand up for what is right, no matter the circumstances or challenges. Your fierce spirit will continue to burn brightly within me and the countless others you inspired.

Having had the privilege of knowing a former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star, I can truly say that she was a remarkable woman. She fought with unwavering determination until the very end. Her unyielding support and championing were invaluable to me during difficult times. Her loyalty was unbreakable, and her protective nature made me feel safe and secure. Above all, she showed me what it truly means to be part of a family. She will forever hold a special place in my heart as not just a friend, but a sister. I loved her deeply.

Doherty sadly passed away on July 13 at the age of 53 after a long fight against stage 4 breast cancer. In her last days, she collaborated with Combs and Fuller on a new project – a podcast revisiting the show “Charmed” called “House of Halliwell.” According to Brian Krause, who acted alongside them in the series.

Krause shared on the July 14 episode that we managed to produce four new episodes within the past week. Shannen’s enthusiasm and dedication were truly remarkable, as she was eager to contribute to the show’s success and offer our audience a closer look at the production process and the enjoyable moments behind the scenes of “Charmed”.

The actor added that Doherty’s death has “shocked” and “devastated” the Charmed community.

“Too young,” Krause shared, “too talented, too loving, too grateful, too early.”

In my experience as a lifestyle expert, I understand that sometimes words can be hard to find in the moment, especially when dealing with emotions. So, instead of expressing myself verbally right now, I want to share that Shannen and I have an unspoken connection. It’s comforting to know that we both feel deeply about our situation, even if we haven’t put words to it yet. The importance lies in our shared understanding.

“I’m deeply saddened by Shannen Doherty’s passing. When I learned I had breast cancer, I recalled how she courageously shared her experience with the world. Her friendship meant so much to me – a connection that felt surreal at times since watching her on ‘90210’ was a big part of my childhood when I was just 10 years old.”

I formed a deep connection with her during our mutual struggle and our commitment to uplifting other women. Reflecting on our last conversation a few months back, she reached out to ask about my wellbeing and if there was anything she could do for me – just like she always did, showing unwavering support even in the late stages of her own fierce battle against this terrible disease.

Olivia ended her speech with a touching tribute to her deceased friend. “Cancer is truly terrifying, but Shannen fought it with great dignity, strength, and grace,” she shared. I’m sending all my love to her mother, who was not only her closest friend but also her greatest supporter and role model throughout her journey. May Shannen soar high in peace, my dear friend.
