Chasca Character Quick Guide

As a seasoned adventurer and Teyvat traveler, I’ve had the pleasure of encountering some truly remarkable characters in my journey thus far. One such individual that has left an indelible mark on me is Chasca, the fiery Hydro Catalyst wielder hailing from Sumeru. Her dynamic playstyle and versatile team compositions make her a standout addition to any traveler’s roster.

In simpler terms, Chasca is a character who specializes in dealing damage with Anemo element and thrives during aerial battles. Her unique skill enables her to remain airborne and move quickly while using charged attacks to target enemies in an aim-assist mode, firing shells as ammunition. The shells change into specific elemental types based on the party members’ elements, inflicting corresponding elemental damage.

Skills Overview

Normal Attack: Phantom Feather Flurry

Normal AttackPerforms up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.

Executes a more focused Arrow Strike, dealing greater damage.

Descending Rain of Arrows: Releases an array of arrows from above as it descends, striking enemies on its trajectory while causing Area-of-Effect damage upon landing.

Elemental Skill: Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt

With her weapon, Chasca harmonizes, dishing out Area of Effect damage that aligns with Nightsoul. After employing this ability, Chasca amasses 80 Nightsoul points and enters a condition known as the Nightsoul’s Blessing.

Nightsoul Point Limit: 80
CD: 6.5s

Keep draining Nightsoul energy from the Nightsoul’s Blessing: Chasca ability. Once all Nightsoul points are used up or the skill is utilized again, Chasca’s Nightsoul’s Blessing status will be deactivated.

Multitarget Fire(Tap) – Deal Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG to opponents in front. This DMG is considered Normal Attack DMG.
(Hold) – Enter Aiming Mode and choose a certain number of opponents within a certain range, before loading up to 6 Shadowhunt Shells based on the duration for which the skill was charged. When 6 Shells have been loaded or charging is stopped, these Shells will be fired at the chosen opponents in sequence.

Shadowhunt Shells perform Nightsoul-aligned Anemo damage, which counts as a Charged Attack’s damage.

Elemental Burst: Soul Reaper’s Fatal Round

As a dedicated admirer, I focus my energies, launching a solitary “Whirlwind of Shattered Souls” that discharges Night-aligned Area Anemo damage. Following this, the Whirlwind of Shattered Souls splinters into six individual “Soulseekers,” each targeting nearby adversaries.

CD: 15s
Energy Cost: 60

Soulseeker Shells inflict Night soul-aligned damage when used with Anemo abilities. Each party member who is Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro will cause two Soulseeker Shells to transform into “Glowing Soulseeker Shells”, which randomly choose one of these elemental types and deal Night soul-aligned damage from that chosen element.

Ascension 1: Bullet Trick

When the ability Spirit Reins is active, and Shadow Hunt’s Multitarget Fire is being charged, if party members match the Elemental Conversion requirements, they will receive effects based on the variety of distinct Elemental Types present:

Ascension 4: Intent to Cover

When a fellow party member activates their Nightsoul Burst, Chasca will retaliate by shooting a “Scorching Phantom Arrow” at a nearby enemy. This shot deals Anemo damage that is doubled from the damage of her Elemental Skill Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt’s Dark Shadowhunt Shells.

Night Realm’s Gift Passive: Everburning Heart

Once Chasca’s NightSoul energy is depleted, she begins drawing on Phlogiston to preserve her NightSoul’s Blessing. In regions with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, the ability “NightSoul Transmission: Chasca” can be utilized. When a teammate jumps into the air, a series of events will transpire when switching to Chasca: She enters the NightSoul’s Blessing state and is credited with 32 NightSoul points. The “NightSoul Transmission: Chasca” can be activated once every 10 seconds by your team members.

Passive Talent: Mediation’s True Meaning

25 units of Phlogiston will replenish whenever enemies your teammates fight are defeated. This event occurs approximately every 12 seconds, but not within Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss.

TLDR / Rotation

If you’re aiming for significant damage with Chasca, it’s through her Elemental Skill that enables her to hover in the air until her Nightsoul energy depletes. During this flight, you can opt for either a quick Normal Attack (lesser damage) or hold the Normal Attack button for a more powerful charged attack. The rapid-fire normal attack should generally be avoided as it only deals normal attack damage. However, the charged attack is where she inflicts her maximum damage, and it counts as a Charged Attack Damage.

1) Astral Vulture’s Crimson Plumage (ATK: 608 • CRIT DMG: 66.2%)

After activating a Swirl event, the attack power (ATK) boost can range from 24% to 48%, lasting for 12 seconds. Furthermore, if half or more of the party members have different Elemental Types compared to the character using the equipment, the damage increase for Charged Attacks is between 20% and 48%, while the damage increase for Elemental Bursts is between 10% and 24%.

2) Aqua Simulacra (ATK: 542 • CRIT DMG: 88.2%)

The HP (Health Points) of this item may rise by between 16% and 32%. If enemies are present, the damage inflicted by its user can increase from 20% to 40%. This enhancement applies regardless of whether the character is currently on the battlefield or not.

3) Thundering Pulse (ATK: 608 • CRIT DMG: 66.2%)

Boosts Attack by between 20-40%, and confers the power of the Thunder Emblem. When at levels 1, 2, or 3, the Thunder Emblem amplifies Normal Attack damage by 12%, 24%, or 40-24%-80%. The character acquires a stack of Thunder Emblem under these conditions: when a Normal Attack causes damage (lasts for 5 seconds), upon casting the Elemental Skill (lasts for 10 seconds); if Energy is below 100% (disappears once Energy is full). Each stack’s duration is calculated individually.

4) Skyward Harp (ATK: 674 • CRIT Rate 22.1%)

Amplifies Critical Damage by between 20 and 40 percent. Each hit has a probability of 60 to 100 percent to execute a small Area-of-Effect attack, causing damage equivalent to 125% of the Physical Attack power. This effect can only occur once every 4 to 2 seconds.

5) Amos’ Bow (ATK: 608 • ATK: 49.6%)

This ability amplifies both Normal and Charged Attack damage by between 12% and 24%. Additionally, the damage inflicted after launching either type of attack increases an extra 8% to 16% every 0.1 seconds the projectile remains airborne, up to a maximum of five times.

Remark: Since Chasca’s Shining Shadowhunt Shells don’t behave as projectiles with travel time, they don’t accumulate stacks from the passive ability associated with the weapon. However, it remains a valuable item for its stats.

6) Polar Star (ATK: 608 • CRIT Rate 33.1%)

Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG increased by 12~24%. After a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits an opponent, 1 stack of Ashen Nightstar will be gained for 12s. When 1/2/3/4 stacks of Ashen Nightstar are present, ATK is increased by 10/20/30/48~20/40/60/96%. The stack of Ashen Nightstar created by the Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst will be counted independently of the others.

Remark: On paper, this weapon outperforms Amos’ Bow slightly. Yet, because of its high Critical Rate property, crafting optimal builds for it can be quite challenging.

7) Flower-Wreathed Feathers (ATK: 510 • ATK 41.3%)

Reduces Glide Stamina drain by 15%. During the use of Aimed Shots, the damage inflicted by Charged Attacks increases by 6% to 12%, growing every half second. This enhancement can accumulate up to six times, but it will disappear after being out of Aiming Mode for ten seconds.

Note: At [R5], this weapon performs similar to Thundering Pulse.

8) Chain Breaker (ATK: 565 • ATK 27.6%)

For each party member hailing from Natlan or possessing an Elemental Type distinct from the user’s, the user experiences a boost in Attack by approximately 4.8% to 9.6%. When there are at least three such characters in the team, the user receives an additional Elemental Mastery bonus ranging from 24% to 48%.

Remark: This weapon behaves similarly to Amos’ Bow, though it remains slightly less powerful, given the assumption of four stacks.

9) Range Gauge (ATK: 565 • ATK 27.6%)

As a devoted fan, I’d describe it like this: Whenever I, or others I heal, are restored, I earn Unity’s Symbols, which persist for 30 seconds, with a maximum of three symbols at a time. Utilizing my Elemental Skill or Burst consumes all active Symbols, granting me the Struggle effect for 10 seconds. For each Symbol consumed, I receive a boost of 3% to 7% Attack and 7% to 13% bonus to all elemental damage. The Struggle effect can be activated once every 15 seconds, and I can still accumulate symbols even when I’m off the battlefield.

Remark: This analysis considers a team setup featuring Bennett and Furina, although teams boasting more dependable healers may enable Chasca to consistently accumulate 3 Stacks, making this weapon nearly as potent as Amos’ Bow. At Refinement Level 5 (R5), it outperforms Amos’ Bow when wielded with 2 Stacks and matches Thundering Pulse in performance when fully stacked with 3 Stacks.

10) Song of Stillness (ATK: 510 • ATK 41.3%)

Following recovery, the user’s attacks inflict 16% to 32% additional damage for a duration of 8 seconds. This bonus damage can be activated even if the character is off the battlefield.

Remark: This weapon is assumed to run continuously (permanent uptime) when inactive. Compared to Amos’ Bow, it shows a slight improvement at the R5 level.

11) Scion of the Blazing Sun (ATK: 565 • CRIT Rate 18.4%)

Following a successful Charged Attack, an opponent will be struck with a Sunfire Arrow, causing damage equal to 60-120% of your attack power. Additionally, this arrow will inflict the Heartsearer effect on the targeted opponent for 10 seconds. Any opponents under the influence of Heartsearer will sustain 28-56% more damage from subsequent Charged Attacks by the weapon’s wielder. The Sunfire Arrow can be activated once every 10 seconds.

As an enthusiast, I’ve observed that the weapon at [R5] shares some resemblance with Amos’ Bow. However, if I quickly aim and shoot swiftly before activating the skill, it comes remarkably close to the Skyward Harp. It’s important to note that this unconventional rotation doesn’t significantly boost its potential at lower refinements.

Recommended Artifacts

  2. Wanderer’s Troupe (4)
  3. Shimenawa’s Reminiscence (4)*
  4. Marechaussee Hunter (4)*

1) Obsidian Codex

As a gamer, I’d say:

2) Wanderer’s Troupe

2-Piece Bonus: Boosts Elemental Mastery by 80.

3) Shimenawa’s Reminiscence

As a gamer, I’d rephrase it like this:

Remark: We value the Damage Bonus from this gear, but the increased energy expenditure tends to lessen how frequently Chasca’s Burst is deployed, contributing significantly to overall damage output.

4) Marechaussee Hunter

2-Piece: Boosts Normal and Charged Attack Damage by 15%.

“As I delve deeper into this game world, I’ve come to appreciate the unique power of this artifact I carry. It seems to truly shine when combined with the enigmatic Furina. At that point, its capabilities are remarkably akin to the legendary Obsidian Codex, version 4.”
