Chase Chrisley Speaks Out After Todd Chrisley, Julie Chrisley’s Pardon

Chase Chrisley is celebrating his parents’ early prison release. 

On a day following President Donald Trump’s pardon of Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley during their incarceration due to bank fraud and tax evasion charges, the eldest Chrisley son has voiced his thoughts publicly.

Chase, aged 28, expressed profound gratitude in a statement to TopMob News. He is deeply grateful to God, as well as President Trump and his administration for their efforts. His heartfelt thanks stem from the joy of having his parents back home at last, which has reunited his family,” said Chase.

Later, the former star of Growing Up Chrisley posted a picture expressing his immense joy upon learning that his parents would be leaving prison ahead of schedule. (TopMob News reported that Julie’s release was scheduled for 2028, while Todd’s expected release date was 2032 before receiving a pardon from President Trump.)

Chase posted a photo on Instagram on May 28th with the caption: “Our family is reunited again,” he said, expressing gratitude to President Trump (@realdonaldtrump @potus) for his extraordinary decision. Thank you, Mr. President! We appreciate, support and are thankful for your efforts.

Besides Chase, other family members are overjoyed by Todd and Julie’s release from prison – they had served their sentences since January 2023. Savannah Chrisley, the couple’s 27-year-old daughter, shared her disbelief and happiness upon being reunited with her parents on May 27.

On Instagram, Savannah excitedly shared that her parents will be back home either tonight or tomorrow, and she can hardly accept it as true. She’s absolutely thrilled but also quite nervous about the situation.

Certainly! Savannah, who became the legal guardian for her 19-year-old brother Grayson Chrisley and 12-year-old niece Chloe Chrisley in 2016 after her parents adopted them from Todd Chrisley’s son Kyle, has shared her struggles in looking after her family while her parents were serving their sentences.

Previously, Savannah mentioned that her parents’ release was just the start of the family’s ongoing efforts.

Savannah stated in her recent podcast that, for everyone to reunite genuinely, it’s essential we all attend an intense, week-long therapy session to address and resolve any issues. She believes this is the sole method through which matters can be settled.

In August 2019, a federal grand jury in Atlanta indicted Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley on 12 counts. The charges included wire fraud, conspiring to commit bank fraud, and conspiring to deceive the United States. As reported by NBC News, these allegations were based on documents they obtained. Prosecutors claimed that the fraudulent activities started in the mid-2000s, involving several incidents such as evading around $2 million in state taxes from 2008 to 2016 and hiding over a million dollars from the Internal Revenue Service.

Yesterday, on the eve of the indictment being served, I found myself vehemently defending my honor and that of my beloved spouse. Rather than accepting any blame, I passionately declared that it was one of our most trusted employees who had been secretly embezzling from us and attempting to extort us with such heinous acts.

In his Instagram post, he stated, “We’ve got nothing to conceal, as we haven’t done anything to be embarrassed about. Not only do we firmly believe we’ve acted correctly, but we also have a significant amount of solid proof and numerous supporting witnesses to back us up.

Three years passed before the stars of “Chrisley Knows Best” stood trial. Over a span of three weeks, various testimonies were heard. Despite entering a plea of not guilty, they were found guilty on all charges related to tax evasion and bank fraud on June 7, 2022.

In simpler terms, it was claimed that a pair, accompanied by their accountant named Peter Tarantino, who was also on trial with them, were involved in a scheme to deceive banks and collect over $30 million illegally throughout a ten-year period.

In Keri Farley’s statement from June 2022, as the recent events demonstrate, fame, wealth, or high status offer no protection from justice when one resorts to deceit, fraud, and theft. The conclusion of guilty verdicts for these three defendants on all charges serves as a reminder that acts driven by greed do not go unpunished in the world of financial crimes, and ultimately, they will not result in profit.

After a five-month delay, the Northern District of Georgia handed down sentences: Todd received a term of 12 years imprisonment, while Julie got seven years. (Meanwhile, Peter was given a sentence of three years in prison.)

For approximately ten years, the accused individuals swindled banks out of a substantial amount of money in the tens of millions, all while avoiding paying their federal taxes. As stated by U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan in November 2022, the severity of their prison terms underscores the enormity of their criminal act and should serve as a cautionary tale for those considering abusing our country’s community banking system to illegally enrich themselves.

In September 2023, the lengths of Julie’s and Todd’s sentences were reduced. Specifically, Julie is now due for release a year and a half ahead of schedule in August 2024, while Todd will be released two years earlier than his initially planned release date in 2033.

Jay Surgent, the attorneys for Todd and Julie, shared with Insider in September 2023 that they are exemplary prisoners who have been given unusually long sentences. He stated, “It appears Todd’s sentence has reduced to ten years, while Julie’s currently stands at five years.

In January 2023, the pair commenced their individual prison terms. Todd was incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution (FPI) located in Pensacola, Florida, while Julie served her sentence in a different federal correctional facility in Lexington, Kentucky.

Approximately half a year following the incarceration of both Julie and Todd, Savannah Chrisley publicly disclosed updates about their well-being. She mentioned that, while they were serving their sentences, there was no communication between them.

She also pushed back at rumors about their time in prison.

She found it amusing since one commented, ‘He seems to have let himself go,’ she shared on her ‘Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley’ podcast. To clarify, hair dye isn’t an option in prison, so his gray hair is natural! If I could speak to him now, I’d say keep the gray, it suits you well and the prison barber does a good job.

From within the confines of my cell at the federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, I have chosen to share my experiences with the public regarding the hardships I’ve endured.

In the phone conversation during the December 2023 episode of Cuomo, he stated that the food was no longer good to eat, as it had surpassed its expiration date by a year.

He went on to say, “There are rats and squirrels infesting our storage facility where the food is kept. They disguised it with plastic, but then they tore open the ceiling due to black mold growth. In the process, they discovered a deceased cat trapped in the ceiling. Unfortunately, the cat fell onto the food pile.

Apart from the atrocities in the cafeteria, he claimed that someone additionally threatened to blackmail his loved ones as well.

He mentioned that a picture was taken of him as he slept, which was then sent to his daughter. He also asked for $2,600 per month in exchange for his protection.

Savannah, the guardian of her younger brothers Grayson and Chloe due to her parents’ incarceration, shared that the impact of their convictions and limited interaction with each other has been a heavy burden for her.

In a conversation with TopMob News in March 2024, she disclosed that the previous time they had communicated was the very morning they were both admitted to federal prison. She implied that there has been significant backlash towards her father due to our vocal stand against the prison conditions.

Indeed, she claimed that the prison authorities were preventing a significant amount of his email communication with her mother.

Even though she didn’t want to make the situation all about her, she acknowledged that it could sometimes be overpowering for her.

Savannah shared on her podcast, Unlocked in April 2024, that she finds it challenging to accept the fact that life seems to carry on without her parents, much like how she feels about certain individuals in her own life who appear to be going about their lives as usual.

She went on saying, “I’m finding it hard to breathe properly, as I juggle our financial situation with raising the children and maintaining a relationship.

In June 2024, Julie’s seven-year prison term was reversed by a three-judge panel from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. While her convictions were upheld, the court found that the sentencing judge in the 2022 trial made an error in calculating the sentence for the reality star.

In their decision, the judges explained that the district court failed to specify the evidence used to convict Julie of pre-2007 losses. Since we cannot locate this evidence in the case records ourselves, they decided to overturn Julie’s sentence and send the case back to the district court. The district court is now required to establish the facts related to loss, restitution, forfeiture, and resentence Julie accordingly.

In the whirlwind of events, I found myself fixated on the intricate legal maneuvers, where my beloved figure’s case was delegated to a lesser tribunal for the purpose of readjusting her sentence. Remarkably, Todd’s sentence seemed to remain untouched in this grand chess game of justice.

Three months following the annulment of her prison sentence, an Atlanta court eventually confirmed Julie’s original seven-year imprisonment term. In a heartfelt display of remorse, she apologized, addressing not only the court but also her children.

Julie expressed her feelings in court, stating, “Over a considerable period, I’ve pondered over what I wish to convey, and I regret the actions and circumstances that have brought us to this point.” In simpler terms, she acknowledged that she has been thinking deeply about what transpired between them for quite some time and expressed her apologies for her past actions.

She’s made every possible effort to reconnect with her family. She’s even learned new abilities like operating a forklift and serving food professionally. This phase of her life has been incredibly challenging. She can never fully compensate her children for their hardships, and for that, she deeply apologizes.

The Chrisleys are returning home. A presidential pardon was granted to them by Donald Trump, as he shared during a phone conversation with Savannah on May 27, 2025.

Savannah expressed her gratitude to TopMob News, stating that for nearly three years she’s been working tirelessly to secure her parents’ release and reunite them with our family. This joyous moment is the realization of countless prayers, and I am profoundly thankful to President Trump for recognizing the truth and taking action that has brought my family back together again.
