Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone hits Kickstarter Goals in 4 Days

The crowdfunding campaign for the upcoming RPG titled “Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone” on Kickstarter has been a success. It surpassed its target of $97,875 in less than a week since it was launched last week. Currently, the campaign stands at an impressive $121,237 backed by 1,399 contributors, and there are still 24 days left for pledges.

Initially, work on “Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone” started quite some time back. However, certain adjustments requested by fans during development, like adding a first-person mode, turned out to be quite costly. As a result, the studio opted to seek financial support from the community through crowdfunding.

As an enthusiastic supporter, I’m thrilled to share that we’re two-thirds of the way towards achieving our goals with Chernobylite 2! The initial two objectives have been successfully accomplished, ensuring that the game will offer a first-person perspective and boast an arsenal identical to the original Chernobylite. However, it’s crucial to note that we’re yet to reach the third milestone. This stretch goal is instrumental in enabling us to introduce customizable weapons within the game, adding another layer of immersion to the Chernobylite 2 experience. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and work together to make this happen!

Initially intended as a third-person game emphasizing its role-playing elements over shooter ones, the team behind “Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone,” Farm 51, aims to gather more input from their players. The Kickstarter pledge includes early access to the game for backers, and the developers plan to utilize extensive player feedback in its development.

In comparison to its earlier version, Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone introduces several new aspects, such as base construction and teaming up with others in a co-op multiplayer mode for certain missions that will be strategically placed within the game’s single-player narrative.

Players will additionally gain the ability to teleport between planes (planewalking), enabling them to adapt their equipment according to varying circumstances and obstacles. Consequently, this feature allows players to prepare for a wider range of scenarios compared to what a standard character build might offer.

In terms of gameplay, Chernobylite 2 will introduce a fresh melee combat system, as well as enhanced combat skills and shooting mechanics for a more polished experience.

In October, a trailer for “Chernobylite 2: The Exclusion Zone” was released, providing a sneak peek into the gameplay, introducing some potential monster enemies players may face, and offering a brief look at an anticipated boss battle in the forthcoming title.

The sequel to “Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone” hasn’t been given a release date just yet, but it’s expected to arrive on both PC and consoles sometime this year. For those eager to explore the world of Chernobyl now, they can delve into the original “Chernobylite”.
