Cheryl Burke Details Being Surprised By “Spoiled” DWTS Partners

2023 has been quite the rollercoaster ride for our beloved reality TV stars as they danced their way through the 34th season of “Dancing with the Stars”! I’ve gotta admit, I was rooting hard for Joey from “The Bachelor,” not just because he found his rose between thorns in partner Jenna Johnson, but also because he brought a level of charm and determination to the dance floor that had me swooning.

Cheryl Burke revealed two people that absolutely swept her off her feet.

Initially, the former contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” held certain assumptions regarding a few of her famous dance partners. However, the professional dancer confessed that it were the partnerships she least expected that danced their way into her life and won over her heart.

On her podcast “Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans” on December 1st episode, she shared that she’s been through numerous seasons and has had many dance partners. Although she danced with Emmitt Smith twice, she admitted to enjoying herself the most during her partnership with Jack Osbourne and Rob Kardashian. She was quite surprised by how much fun she had, as she didn’t anticipate such successful seasons with them.

Initially, she admitted that her “anticipation wasn’t particularly high,” but then she found out that you shouldn’t make assumptions based solely on first impressions, much like not judging a book by its cover.

She stated, “Initially, when I saw Jack and Rob on MTV and The Kardashians respectively, they came across as spoiled brats to me. However, contrary to those early impressions, these individuals are not what you might expect. What I admire most is that we managed to get along, and they don’t take themselves too seriously.

For a quarter of a century, Cheryl danced as a professional on the ABC competition show. Over these 26 seasons, she partnered with an illustrious array of celebrities, such as Drew Lachey from the band 98 Degrees – with whom she claimed the Mirrorball trophy in season five – and NFL player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.

She mentioned that she usually prefers spending her time during those periods with reality stars or athletes, but most often she’s drawn to reality stars.

After approximately 17 years, Cheryl made the decision to step away from the realm of Dancing with the Stars. She expressed this change on Instagram, stating her intention to depart the show following the completion of season 31.

She shared with TopMob News in November 2022 that her journey as a dancer on “Dancing with the Stars” had come to an end, marking a significant milestone for her. This experience has profoundly impacted her life. She hasn’t been able to hold back her tears, and she is not typically one who cries excessively.

Despite some negative comments about her feelings for the program, she took care to set the record straight and articulate how valuable the opportunity to dance professionally was to her.

She expressed, during a podcast episode in April, that her admiration for “Dancing with the Stars” will remain unchanged, an aspect that won’t fade. It’s important to her not to appear unappreciative of her time on the show, as she has made clear before, and she certainly is, deeply grateful for the experience.

In the TV series Inventing Anna, the protagonist, who was actually a fraudulent heiress, swapped her ankle monitor for dance shoes with partner Ezra Sosa. The prominent NBA player aspired to outshine all others alongside partner Daniella Karagach, but their journey in the competition came to an end on November 12th.
