Chiefs Kingdom has a new member.
Justin Reid, a safety for the Kansas City Chiefs, has reasons beyond merely qualifying for another Super Bowl. A week prior to their victory in the AFC Championship game, Justin and his partner Marissa Rand were blessed with the arrival of their newborn daughter.
During a Chiefs press conference held on January 22nd, the young man of 27 years shared that his weekend had been quite hectic. However, he emphasized that nothing compared to the joy he experienced when welcoming his newborn daughter into the world – an experience far more delightful than their divisional victory.
Justin, who started dating Marissa in the year 2022, shared the immense joy he felt upon meeting his daughter.
He stated that he needed to visit the birthing clinic, where he witnessed the delivery. All he felt was an overwhelming sense of love and immense joy as he cradled the newborn.
On the very same day, Justin posted a photo on Instagram Stories, where he was holding his newly born daughter; the story had expired by then.
Justin and Marissa revealed they were having their first child in October. Drawing inspiration from Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, Marissa displayed her pregnancy news on the sidelines as the Chiefs battled the New Orleans Saints, holding up a sign that said, “Justin, I’m expecting.
On October 8th, the couple posted a picture on their shared Instagram account with the caption, “It seems Super Bowl babies are especially loved by God, don’t you think? Can you figure out the baby’s gender?” (or alternatively, “On Oct. 8th, the couple uploaded a photo to their joint Instagram account with the message, ‘Super Bowl babies seem to be God’s favorites, wouldn’t you agree? Can you tell if it’s a boy or girl?'”)
Recently, the Chiefs family has grown with the recent arrivals of Justin and Marissa. This is following the joyous occasion when Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany welcomed their third child, Golden Raye Mahomes, just a few days earlier.
Just a few days following that event, Brittany – mother of Sterling, aged 3, and Bronze, aged 2, alongside the athlete – was spotted at Arrowhead Stadium, enthusiastically supporting Patrick and the team as they triumphed over the Houston Texans on January 18.
The Kansas City Chiefs have much reason to rejoice, having secured their spot in Super Bowl LIX following their victory over the Buffalo Bills on January 26. In the upcoming game on February 9, the Chiefs, who will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles, stand a chance to create history by becoming the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
