For more than ten years, Disney has intentionally pursued success in China’s movie market. This includes modifying content to comply with China’s censorship rules, adjusting storylines, casting choices, and marketing efforts to appeal more to Beijing. Essentially, Disney saw China as a very profitable bird (golden goose). However, the flop of Snow White at the Chinese box office suggests that this strategy may have finally come to an end.
