Although she has since achieved great success with parts in shows like Big Love, American Horror Story, Bloodline, and most recently Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, it’s worth noting that Chloë Sevigny was also featured in the 2000 film American Psycho.
It seems like Sevigny is set to reappear in the upcoming Luca Guadagnino movie adaptation.
In the initial film where Christian Bale played the main character, Sevigny portrayed his secretary Jean. When the actress learned that Guadagnino was planning to adapt the Bret Easton Ellis novel again, she showed interest in reprising her role.
In conversation with IndieWire, Sevigny suggested: “I proposed playing Jean once more and reversing my age for the role. I believed this idea, featuring the same actress in the same part, would appeal to him conceptually.
She added: “He said he was going to think of something else for me.”

Although reports suggest that the auditions for Jean’s character are ongoing and won’t involve Sarah Polley reprising her role, we can only speculate about the interesting possibilities that director Guadagnino might have planned for her.
Regarding additional main characters in the movie, there’s still much uncertainty since it was earlier announced that Austin Butler will portray Patrick Bateman, a character who transforms from an investment banker into a serial killer during the night.
Despite earlier speculation suggesting Butler would direct the upcoming film, those reports remain unconfirmed at this point. Afterward, Patrick Schwarzenegger, known for his role in The White Lotus, expressed interest in assuming the part previously held by Jason Bateman.
Following a statement to fans on platform X expressing his strong desire for the role of the contentious character, the actor hinted that his upcoming project following “The White Lotus” might bring about significant changes in his life.
He expressed his strong desire to discover the perfect fit, mentioning a project he’s collaborating on with an admired director who has inspired him throughout his entire career.
I’m really fond of his work, and we’re working on a project together that I’m eagerly anticipating. If it comes to fruition this year, it’s likely to be one of the toughest and most demanding experiences – both personally and professionally – that I’ve ever faced.
Currently, there’s no definite decision regarding the cast of the project, although speculations persist about potential leads such as Jacob Elordi, Butler, and Schwarzenegger for Euphoria.
Regarding Jean’s part, we’ll need to exercise patience, yet it’s reassuring to know that actress Alexis Bledel (Sevigny) is expected to feature in the upcoming retelling of the story.
