Chris Evans Skips Cannes Premiere for Heartwarming Family Celebration!

Chris Evans is proving he’s a superhero son.

As a dedicated follower, I found myself regrettably absent on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in France on May 23rd. This was particularly disappointing because it was the world premiere of my upcoming comedy, “Honey Don’t!”. However, I chose to prioritize a special milestone for my dear mom, Lisa Capuano Evans, over the event.

Chris shared on Instagram Stories that he regretted not being able to join his remarkable cast and crew at Cannes due to his mother’s 70th birthday celebration, an event he couldn’t skip. He extended his warm congratulations to all!

As I stepped onto the red carpet, in the absence of my dear colleague, I was honored to be joined by Margaret Qualley, Charlie Day, and Aubrey Plaza, who graciously represented our film at its premiere. The evening was especially significant for Aubrey, as it marked her first red carpet event since the heartbreaking passing of her husband Jeff Baena earlier this year. It was a poignant reminder of the bond we share as a cast and the resilience that art can bring in times of sorrow.

Speaking about Chris, the one who got married to Alba Baptista in September 2023, it’s worth noting that he has often expressed warm sentiments regarding his tight-knit family structure in the past.

In an interview with Esquire back in 2017, he expressed a profound attachment to his family and the significance of those ties. He has consistently admired tales about individuals who prioritize their families over themselves. To him, such selflessness is truly commendable.

The actor went on to note that unlike close friendships, “You can’t choose your family.”

If a friendship doesn’t work out, you can choose to end it,” he explained. “Family, on the other hand, is a different story. Making a family relationship not only functional but also enjoyable is a difficult task, and that’s definitely true for me and my family.

Which might explain why he’s looking forward to starting a family of his own.

“Yeah, absolutely,” he told Access Hollywood in November. “The title of dad is an exciting one.”
