Christmas Anaconda ……

As a movie critic who’s seen his fair share of creature features and cheesy holiday films, I must say the news about the upcoming Christmas Anaconda remake has left me both intrigued and slightly apprehensive.

Back in 1997, there was a movie titled “Anaconda” which centered around huge South American snakes and boasted a diverse cast that included Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, and Jon Voight. The film was known for its absurdity and gross-out moments (particularly the scene where Jon Voight was regurgitated by the snake). Despite producing several subsequent sequels of decreasing quality, there have been plans for a remake for quite some time, and it appears that one is finally in production. The project, titled “Christmas Anaconda,” has received approval, suggesting that audiences can expect to see this film hit theaters during Christmas 2025.

In this upcoming movie, Sony is in charge of production, and both Paul Rudd and Jack Black will be featured actors. Given the size of the roles for these two well-known figures, we can assume that the snake portrayed in the film will be enormous with an insatiable appetite. Directing duties will fall to Tom Gormican, who previously delivered a self-referential comedy hit with “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” starring Nicolas Cage. Notably, Gormican collaborated with Kevin Etten on the film’s script, as they had also worked together on “Massive Talent” in the past.

In his video message, Jack Black mentioned there will be a huge, potentially terrifying snake that could cause damage or destruction. I appreciate your sharing of this intriguing information, Jack. It’s truly enlightening!

So this Christmas we’re getting a Sonic hedgehog, next year we’re getting a Christmas anaconda!
