Cillian Murphy fans think they’ve spotted him in 28 Years Later trailer

As a seasoned cinema enthusiast with over three decades of movie-watching under my belt, I must admit that the trailer for Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later has sent a shiver down my spine and piqued my interest. The prospect of revisiting the post-apocalyptic world of the original 2002 film, albeit with a fresh perspective, is tantalizing.

In simpler terms, the initial trailer for director Danny Boyle’s much-anticipated follow-up to his zombie film “28 Days Later” has been released, featuring Cillian Murphy stepping aside and Aaron Taylor- Johnson assuming the role of Kraven the Hunter instead.

Yet, it seems that fans are confident that Jim, the bicycle messenger character portrayed by Murphy, is present for a moment in the trailer. The dominant hypothesis among them is that he’s struggling to survive in the grim, post-apocalyptic universe depicted in the franchise.

Multiple individuals assert that one of the stumbling figures shown in the spine-tingling preview could actually represent a beloved character from Murphy’s past performances, potentially sparking significant debates about upcoming movie 28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple.

In this latest installment, the spotlight falls on the new character portrayed by Taylor-Johnson; however, future events in “The Bone Temple” will once again bring attention to the character of Jim, who has not appeared since the initial 2002 movie.

Guided by director Nia DaCosta of Candyman, it’s plausible that part II might unveil the circumstances leading to Jim’s infection by the zombie epidemic, assuming the current theory holds up.

Despite the shabby appearance of the figure in the 28 Days Later trailer, which seems to resemble Murphy, we can’t definitively confirm it’s him. So, for now, consider these theories as speculations, not facts, and take them with a bit of skepticism.

“For nearly 30 years, the ‘rage’ virus has been confined after its escape from a bio-weapons lab. Under strict quarantine conditions, certain individuals have learned to survive among the infected.

A particular band of surviving individuals resides on a tiny isle linked to the mainland through a solitary, robustly guarded bridge.

As a member of their party sets off from the island on an exploration deep within the interior, they uncover mysteries, marvels, and terrors that have altered not just the afflicted, but also other inhabitants of the mainland.

28 Years Later began filming during the summer, following Murphy’s Oscar win for his role in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and ongoing recognition for his portrayal of Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders.
