EastEnders aired a new dangerous accusation from Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).

The BBC One soap opera resumed its gripping mystery storyline from December 25th, where the identity of the individual who struck Cindy with a shovel and abandoned her remains unknown, as nine potential suspects have been identified.

In recent weeks, most suspects have come under fire for their lies around the night.

This week, it became clear that Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) had spent the night of the attack in bed with Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), a revelation which left her sister Anna (Molly Rainford) utterly astonished.

Anna hid the shovel in the barrel storage at the Queen Vic pub as well, yet she asserted that she didn’t place it there when she left.

On Wednesday, an unexpected development unfolded as Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) was exposed for having swiped a shovel from Vic’s place and transporting it to his own apartment.

On a Thursday, Michelle Collins’ character, Cindy Beale, stayed resolute in her quest for the truth and ventured to the Vic. There, she uncovered the fact that the shovel had been concealed.

Initially, Cindy was eager to acquire the shovel as potential DNA evidence, but she discovered from the Knights that it had been taken. Feeling troubled, Cindy then received a message from Junior requesting a meeting.

Upon arriving at Junior’s apartment, Cindy discovered him present, and he admitted to having the shovel. He recommended that she take it to the police station.

Junior asserted his innocence regarding the assault, yet warned that the shovel could potentially hold Anna’s DNA, implying she may have concealed crucial evidence from authorities. This situation now places the decision on Cindy as to how to proceed further.

In The Square, Cindy openly expressed her fury towards Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), implying he might be her assailant. She suggested that he was happy to find her weakened and in need of his help, causing him to leave angrily.

A little later at Kathy’s Cafe, Cindy confronted Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) again while she was with Peter Beale (Thomas Law). This led to a heated argument between Cindy and Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), who is Ian’s mother. In the end, Kathy asked Cindy to leave her cafe due to their escalating dispute.

Cindy, feeling fearful, went back home upon receiving a visit from Gina, who expressed her belief that she might have identified the person who harmed Cindy.

A neighbor of Junior’s showed Gina video clips taken outside his apartment on Christmas night, which suggested he wasn’t at home and spent a significant part of the evening outside. This evidence led Gina to believe with confidence that it was indeed Junior.

Afterward, Cindy went to see Junior once more. However, he continued to assert his innocence because of his affection for her, which only added to Cindy’s bewilderment.

As I strolled down Bridge Street at the end of that episode, I bumped into Kathy once more. She didn’t mince words, scolding me for using Ian, expressing her frustration about how Ian repeatedly returns to me despite my actions.

In a different phrasing: When Cindy tried to depart, Kathy held onto her arm. This action caused Cindy to caution Kathy that the DNA proof on the shovel might incriminate her, potentially leading the police to arrest Kathy. However, Cindy hinted that she might apprehend Kathy before that happened, saying “not if (I) get her first!

Kathy appeared troubled as she pointed fingers at Cindy, alleging that Cindy had done something wrong, before Cindy collided with Junior near the pub.

Sharing her thoughts with Junior, Cindy expressed that Kathy had wanted her out since she arrived. In fact, as Cindy put it, Kathy had stated herself that she regretted not having completed the task of getting rid of Cindy earlier.

As Junior pressed for answers, Cindy proclaimed: “It’s Kathy who tried to kill me!”

Has Cindy finally caught her killer?
