The inclusion of Matt Berry and Gabriel Leone to the already stellar cast for Season 2 has me on the edge of my seat with anticipation!
The international espionage series from Prime Video known as “Citadel” is expanding its team. It was confirmed on Friday that Matt Berry, famously known for his roles in “What We Do in the Shadows” and “The IT Crowd”, and Gabriel Leone, recognized for his work in “Ferrari” and “Senna”, have signed up to appear in the second season of “Citadel”. At this point, it remains a mystery as to who these actors will be playing.
Berry and Leone are set to be part of the cast for the TV show Citadel, which already features Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, and Jack Reynor from the first season. Additionally, Reynor will also appear in the second season of the series.
Are the Russo Brothers Involved with Citadel Season 2?
It’s been verified that the team of Joe and Anthony Russo, who are also set to direct ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ for Marvel Studios, will indeed be coming back to work on the second season of ‘Citadel’.

In an interview back in June, Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke revealed that they’re deeply involved in directing and producing the second season of a show called “Citadel: Diana”. This is fantastic news, as I can’t wait to see where this thrilling Italian spy series goes next.
Sanders commented, “The ‘Diana’ artifact hails from Italy, while ‘Honey Bunny’ originates from India. Each one carries a unique taste tied to its region, yet they contribute to a universal narrative. We’ll be announcing updates soon on Season 2 of ‘Citadel’, which is set to begin production imminently, and we’re thrilled about the cast joining our project.”
What Is Citadel About?
In the series Citadel, eight years ago, the Citadel – an autonomous global intelligence agency dedicated to ensuring global safety and security – was brought down by operatives from Manticore, a powerful secretive organization influencing world events. Following the Citadel’s collapse, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories erased as they barely managed to escape with their lives. Since then, they have been living undercover, creating new lives for themselves under different identities, oblivious of their pasts. However, one fateful night, Mason is found by his ex-Citadel ally Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who pleads with him to aid in thwarting Manticore’s plan for a new global order. Mason then searches for Nadia and the two agents set off on a globe-trotting adventure to stop Manticore, while dealing with a tumultuous relationship built on secrets, deception, and an intense yet perilous affection.
In the game’s cast, I find myself sharing the screen with Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer, Osy Ikhile as Carter Spence, Ashleigh Cummings as Abby Conroy, Roland Müller as both Anders Silje and Davik Silje, and Caoilinn Springall as Hendrix Conroy.
Season 2 of Citadel will debut exclusively on Prime Video at a later date.
