With the global release of “Civilization 7”, both its creators and enthusiasts are already looking forward to what’s coming next for this game. During their launch day broadcast and subsequent “Civilization 7” World Summit, Firaxis revealed some of their aspirations and plans for the game. Since its Early Access release, they have already issued three updates to address major concerns. Now, they are preparing to unveil a roadmap for “Civilization 7” and concentrate on much-needed user interface improvements.
A substantial number of enthusiasts of the Civilization series are generally pleased with the latest edition, yet there’s a consensus that it requires certain enhancements. The primary issue raised by players revolves around the game’s user interface (UI), which they find challenging to navigate. Specifically, aspects related to building and monitoring units require attention, as well as general UI refinements to facilitate a more welcoming gaming experience. During the launch day live stream, developers addressed player inquiries while demonstrating Civilization 7. Furthermore, updates for the game are expected to be rolled out regularly via Steam.
Addressing significant issues faced by players in the PC version of “Civilization 7”, Patch 3 has introduced several key changes such as an alert system for enemy attacks on player units, adjustments to the use of Nuclear Weapons, and a progress tracker for plot tooltips. Additionally, resource icons on improved tiles are now larger than those on unimproved ones, enhancing visibility for players. However, Firaxis Games asserts that they continue to work on providing free enhancements for “Civilization 7”.
More UI Improvements and Player Requests Coming in Civilization 7 Future Roadmap
Since the game began its Early Access phase, Firaxis Games has been committed to listening to player feedback. They intend to integrate player suggestions into their development plan for the game, which they plan to reveal within the next few weeks.
For those eager to learn about enhancements and corrections coming in future free updates to Civilization 7, this roadmap provides a clear insight into what Firaxis is currently developing. This will probably expand beyond the current 2025 Content Roadmap, which primarily concentrates on new leaders, civilizations, and additional game content, rather than focusing on developmental refinements and adjustments.
Even though Firaxis hasn’t fully unveiled their development plan yet, they’ve hinted at certain enhancements that are underway for now. The team is currently focusing on delivering additional free upgrades to Civilization 7, which include user interface refinements, incorporating requested features by the community, and further quality-of-life improvements.
Although it had a bumpy beginning, it appears that Civilization 7 is making strides towards incorporating player suggestions. For example, several modifications in Patch 3 were popular requests from the community. To date, Firaxis seems to be genuinely taking heed of their fans’ opinions, not merely paying lip service to it. Those eager to keep providing feedback as they play Civilization 7 can do so by joining its official Discord server.
