As a seasoned gamer with decades of Civilization series under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and impatience at the impending release of Civilization 7. My first encounter with this iconic strategy game was back in the early ’90s when civilization itself was still finding its footing on the digital battlefield.
The long-awaited next chapter in the acclaimed 4X strategy series “Civilization” by Firaxis and 2K is almost here, as the countdown to its launch has begun in earnest. Earlier this year, news of “Civilization 7” was confirmed with a projected release date in 2025, and more recently, we have received a tighter timeline for its arrival.
Based on their latest financial report for this quarter, Take-Two Interactive, Civilization 7’s parent company, has announced that the game is scheduled to drop in the last quarter of the current fiscal year, which concludes on April 1st, 2024. This means it will be released between January and March of 2025, specifically during Q1 of that year.
Although the exact release date for Civilization 7 remains undisclosed, it will be unveiled at Gamescom this month. Additionally, Firaxis Games is planning to present a comprehensive 20-minute demonstration on the same day. It’s likely that we’ll get more information about the launch date during these events.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t wait for the day when I can dive into the world of “Civilization 7” on my trusty PC, as well as on the next-gen consoles like the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and even on the Nintendo Switch!
