Civilization 7 Post-Launch Roadmap Revealed – New Civs, Leaders, and More Confirmed

The release of Civilization 7 is almost upon us, and it promises to be a rich experience from the get-go. Notably, the developers at Firaxis have also revealed plans for additional content following the game’s launch. Specifically, they’ve given some insights into what we can expect in terms of post-launch support for this turn-based strategy title.

Initially, it’s no surprise that we’ll see downloadable content (DLC) for Civilization 7. Known as “Collections,” these paid DLC expansions will introduce new civilizations, leaders, and landmarks. The first one, named “Crossroads of the World,” is set to roll out in two parts throughout March.

Initially, the first phase introduces two fresh civilizations – Great Britain and Carthage, along with a new leader, Ada Lovelace. Approximately three weeks later, wave 2 will introduce additional civilizations such as Bulgaria and Nepal, accompanied by two more leaders including Simón Bolívar.

In the upcoming second quarter or third quarter of this year, the latest expansion pack for Collections, titled “Right to Rule,” is scheduled to launch. This addition will introduce two new leaders from different civilizations, as well as eight new civilizations and natural wonders each.

Additionally, Firaxis and 2K are hinting at significant enhancements across various aspects of the game, along with numerous events and challenges. For example, they’re planning two updates in March that will introduce new natural wonders, such as Mount Everest and the Bermuda Triangle, and additional events.

Civilization VII is set to release on February 11 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Owners of Deluxe and Founder’s Editions can start playing from February 6. On the same day, a Day 0 patch will be made available.
